Eles têm peso, textura e feições que imitam um recém-nascido. Os bebês reborn, bonecas hiper-realistas que reproduzem bebês humanos, vêm ganhando popularidade entre adultos, principalmente entre mulheres, e despertam tanto fascínio quanto polêmica. O fenômeno vem desafiando fronteiras entre realidade e representação, exigindo um olhar atento às motivações psicológicas envolvidas.

Segundo a psicóloga Valéria Figueiredo, docente do curso de psicologia da Estácio, é preciso entender o contexto em que a busca pelo hiper-real se intensifica. “Na era do imaginário, onde a imagem ganha o centro do capitalismo, precisamos nos perguntar: o que é real?”, provoca. Para ela, vivemos uma ‘inflação semiótica’, marcada por símbolos descolados de significados concretos. É nesse cenário que os bebês reborn ocupam espaço: “O real perde espaço para o hiper-real”.

Valéria explica que, do ponto de vista psicológico, o apego a esses bonecos pode ter várias camadas de significado. Uma delas está ligada ao instinto de cuidado. “Para mulheres que não puderam ter filhos, vivenciaram perdas gestacionais ou estão lidando com a síndrome do ninho vazio, o bebê reborn pode funcionar como uma forma simbólica de expressão do maternar”, afirma. Ao simular os gestos cotidianos de cuidado, como dar colo, vestir, alimentar, essas mulheres podem encontrar conforto e propósito emocional.

Outro ponto relevante está relacionado ao luto. Em situações de perda, o boneco pode ser um objeto de transição, ajudando na elaboração do sofrimento. “A semelhança com um bebê real oferece um foco para o afeto e a saudade, permitindo uma externalização do sentimento”, observa Valéria. No entanto, ela alerta: “É necessário acompanhamento profissional nesses casos, para evitar que a fantasia substitua a realidade da perda e torne o luto mais difícil de ser elaborado”.

A solidão também aparece como uma motivação recorrente. Em tempos de vínculos frágeis e conexões digitais, o bebê reborn pode representar companhia e estimular interações em comunidades on-line. “Mesmo inanimado, o boneco pode gerar rotina, conversas e uma sensação de pertencimento”, comenta a psicóloga. Em certos contextos, ele também representa controle: “O bebê reborn pode ser aquilo que eu desejo no momento — algo que posso controlar, diferente da imprevisibilidade das relações reais”.

Sob a ótica da teoria do apego, o boneco pode suprir necessidades de segurança e proximidade emocional. Pessoas com histórico de traumas ou com padrões de apego inseguros podem encontrar nos reborns uma forma de contato afetivo previsível e livre de riscos.

Contudo, nem sempre a relação é saudável. “Quando o vínculo com o boneco substitui relações humanas significativas ou se torna uma fuga para não lidar com dores emocionais reais, é sinal de que pode haver sofrimento psíquico”, aponta Valéria. Nesses casos, o acompanhamento psicológico é fundamental.

O debate sobre os bebês reborn convida a uma análise mais ampla sobre os limites entre o simbólico e o real, a fantasia e a necessidade de afeto. “Compreender as motivações por trás desse vínculo é essencial para que possamos olhar para essas experiências com empatia, mas também com responsabilidade clínica”, conclui a psicóloga.
