  1. 3 years ago today, we lost my Dad. We've never recovered from that traumatic loss. Dad suffered a premature death due to unmasked people in hospital, where he was infected with covid. That set off latent TB, which he recovered from in hospital. The covid infection he never fully recovered from. It damaged his heart, which didn't have issues prior to covid infection. That led to his long covid cardiac arrest death.

This is one of the big reasons I'm vigilant about masking up & get upset at folks who stopped masking & are enabling more eugenics in our communities. I lost my Dad because of reckless unmasked people. I have one Aunt disabled from long covid & in a wheelchair. How many more lives need to sacrificed for eugenics, inhumane public health & basic lack of concern for others?

We are having quiet, family ceremonies for my Dad's memorial, today ❤️💗❤️
    Love is infinite.

  2. Critical minerals collide with #tourism in B.C. resort town.

A #Calgary based mining company called West High Yield Resources wants to extract #magnesium ore from Record Ridge, about seven kilometres outside of town, and ship it overseas.

West High Yield holds mineral claims over 8,972 hectares at the site — an area 4.6 times bigger than the city of Victoria. In October 2025, the #BCgovernment approved the company’s #mining permit.

Several #Rossland residents say they have been confounded by what they see as abnormalities in the siting and permitting of the mine. Many have united under the banner of the non-profit Save Record Ridge Action Society ( #SRRAC ).

At one point, WHY Resources sought to remove up to 200,000 tonnes of ore a year, but later reduced that to 63,500 tonnes per year — below the 70,000-tonne limit that often triggers an environmental assessment.

In a May 2025 letter to the province, the #Ktunaxa Nation Council argued alongside SRRAC that the mine footprint only dropped by 5.7 per cent, despite a 68 per cent cut in proposed production.

The stated lower production capacity “masks and understates its true capacity” and environmental footprint, added the nation, arguing it’s designed to avoid initial regulatory hurdles and be scaled up later.

SRRAC requested that Ottawa carry out an environmental review of the Record Ridge mine project.

A report issued last month from the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada rejected that request. It found the mine project did not require federal designation, and that existing laws were enough to manage the potential impacts on fish, migratory birds and Indigenous rights.

  3. #ThrowbackThursday 2022.
I miss Dad very much 😢 ❤️ He's been gone for over 2 years now.
I remember this day well. It was an excellent family bonding day. We had a nice dinner after a short walk together. 3 months after this photo was taken, Dad had to go to ER for a leg muscles issue. He was infected with covid by unmasked hospital staff. It happened shortly after our eugenics government removed public masking mandates. Dad ended up dying from covid related cardiac arrest, the following Summer.

I have never forgiven the #BCgovernment or #unmasked #hospital staff for killing my Dad. We had him fully protected with home #caregiving for years. It took less than 2 days in hospital for him to get #covid.

Please #WearAMask. Please don't let my Dad & others who died from getting covid from unmasked people, to be forgotten. It could be you or your family members, next. Covid doesn't care if you believe in it or not - it will end up wrecking your life, one way or another.

["The decision was made after the provincial government’s recent backtracking on the redesign of language acquisition programs for deaf, hard-of-hearing and deafblind children.

It’s not just an organization closing,” said Sarah-Anne Hrycenko, a Deaf professional who received support through the Deaf Children’s Society of BC, or DCS, when she was a baby. “It’s the fading of an entire Deaf ecosystem that once nurtured language, identity and leadership in [the] B.C. Deaf community.” ]

This #BCgovernment doesn't really care about #PeopleWithDisabilities. Programs/services/supports for #disabled citizens have been cut, budgets slashed; we face years plus long waiting lists to access both medical & disability support services, we live under #eugenics public health policies, our BC government still denies prescription coverage for several essential medications, funding for nonprofits that help disabled people live/work has been fully cut or severely reduced. That's only the tip of the inhumane cruelty icebergs - when it comes to how our governments have #dehumanized & mistreated us disabled citizens. Their dishonest PR speeches do not align with the hard realities that people with disabilities in BC face, regularly.

  5. @cbcbc_mirror #BCNDP & federal Liberals don't care about respecting #IndigenousRights. They have blown millions of tax dollars to sue Indigenous peoples in BC & they sic RCMP on native land defenders. #Colonizers never really changed & are still abusive/exploitive. They never planned to fully implement #UNDRIP.

#Bill14 & #Bill15 are #undemocratic bills that #BCNDP is shoving through. This #BCgovernment, under greasy #JohnHorgan groomed super sellout, former civil liberties lawyer guy, #DavidEby - is breaking its own law under the Declaration of the Rights of #IndigenousPeoples.

This type of #neoliberalism is right in line with #BillC5 from #GovernmentOfCanada under #MarkCarney federal Liberals(Conservatives, basically). They take actions which are against the publics' interests. They serve corporations over people & environment. They are always greenwashing & whitewashing, while helping with ecocidal corporate plundering & endangering our liveable futures.

These corrupted, corporate lobbyist pandering governments don't really give a damn about #IndigenousCommunities - they still want to exploit lands & steal resources without prior consultation or consent.

  7. *One of my fierce sisters from another mister & fellow land/forest/water protectors, Jocey Alec & her family from #Wetsuweten #FirstNation are in this #documentary.

The #BCNDP & #GovernmentOfCanada are both still trying to criminalize environmental & #IndigenousSovereignty activism. The #BCgovernment created #RCMPCIRG in 2017 to crackdown on protestors. They are strictly a corporate mercenaries branch serving industry interests not public interests. Citizens tax monies are being exploited by BC NDP to pay these militarized thugs to commit violence so #ecocide corporations can profit more.*

Is #Canada at a point of no return, suffering the effects of #ClimateChange and worsening #wildfire seasons? Two controversial pipelines, the #TransMountain Expansion Project #TMX and #CoastalGasLink #CGL are being expanded and threatening the natural home of historically oppressed First Nations in Canada. But several First Nations are leading the fight against these massive #pipelines and becoming key advocates for protecting #nature from climate change.

Being a #LandDefender comes at a cost: harassment, detentions by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police
#RCMP and threats from private security. But, in the face of setbacks, these #Indigenous #activists press on: “We are still fighting. This dance is not over yet.” In this episode, we hear the stories of the #IndigenousCommunities on the receiving end of these huge pipelines and their fight for the protection of both humans and nature.

  9. We need serious #ForestryReform in #BritishColumbia immediately. We need to implement the science-based recommendations from experts who were commissioned multiple times by #BCNDP #BCgovernment to produce #OldGrowth Strategic Reviews (twice during Horgan's regime). They promised to implement the recommendations but they have not done so. Our old growth forests aren't numerous anymore & yet our #capitalist driven, #neoliberal government is still allowing them to be cut. In a severe #ClimateCrisis - we're stuck with political leaders who are still siding with ecocidal corporations. We need to ban corporate lobbyists. They never have citizens' best interests at heart & our politicians are too easily bribed.

  10. #FuckTheRCMP - they flew these #helicopters multiple times, daily, to try & intimidate us. We had Transport Canada verify that this helicopter maneuver & 3 other ones documented at other resistance camp areas was illegal & violated federal regulations but no action was taken to punish people responsible for violations.

This footage was taken before over 100 RCMP CIRG goons raided 4 different #ResistanceCamps.

Voluntary RCMP #CIRG unit was created in 2017 as a strictly corporate mercenaries unit in BC. Approved by #BCNDP government. The same government who has given them multiple budget increases - millions of #BCtaxpayers monies were used for that. Taxpayers monies were also used by #BCgovernment on attempts to criminalize environmental activists in BC courts. Some of the court cases are still ongoing.

RCMP CIRG is a fully voluntary unit & RCMP who choose to join the unit get paid more than regular RCMP goons. It's all about the extra money for these colonial greedy chumps.

  11. The revelations about the government’s numbers were also frustrating for Green Party Leader Sonia Furstenau.

“This government — and in particular when it comes to anything to do with health care — loves rolling out a whole bunch of numbers that they think are going to somehow convince people that what they're experiencing in their communities isn't real,” she told the IJF.

But she said she was exhausted by the other parties’ deflection on the issue, and by their shared push for involuntary care. She described secured treatment facilities as the “the most expensive end of the continuum of care” for substance use disorders, and said they are not well supported by the evidence.

“We are starving for access to preventive and proactive mental health care services in this province, and we hear again and again from parents who say ‘I couldn't get help from my child when they needed it,’” Furstenau said.

“The response of both Eby and Rustad is to say, well, we'll wait until that person is in absolutely the worst state of crisis and then we'll force them into involuntary care. It makes no sense.”

  16. The #BCNDP #BCgovernment has said no to a proposal to create a #ProtectedArea for an area of #OldGrowth #cedars near #DuncanLake.

"At this time, #BCParks is not considering including this area in the provincial protected areas system," wrote Minister of Land, Water and Resource Stewardship #NathanCullen in a letter to Grant Trower of Howser, B.C., on Sept. 3.

Trower is the founder of the group #WildlifeHabitatsForTomorrow that has been advocating for the protection of a 531-hectare grove and wetland.

He wants #BritishColumbia to declare the #CedarGroves a protected area, which is a category of protection just short of a full-fledged provincial park.

“There are many #trees in this grove that are well over 1,000 years old, and one that is estimated to be 2,100 years old,” said Trower. “They are the largest trees in the whole southern interior #rainforest. It isn’t just old growth. It’s #ancient old growth.”

He told the Nelson Star that Cullen's letter will not deter him.

"The advocacy is ongoing to ensure this special place will remain for our kids and grandchildren, for this grove is unique and easy to experience," he said, adding that the next steps will include media attention, targeted field trips and obtaining #FirstNations #endorsement.

  23. It’s no surprise that big #polluting companies are not happy about annual #CarbonTax increases. But it is #unfair that #BritishColumbians must pay the full carbon tax when the #OilAndGas industry, whose production is responsible for more than one-quarter of #BritishColumbia #CarbonEmissions, gets a carbon #TaxBreak.

The new system will also have a negative impact on B.C.’s carbon #TaxRevenues. In 2024-25, carbon tax revenues will be about $500 million lower than they would have been under the old system. This #RevenueLoss means fewer dollars to pay for #ClimateAction.

B.C. hereditary chief gets house arrest for #pipeline blockade

Chief invoked #Wetsuweten law for protecting land and water against #CoastalGasLink

"Chief Dtsa'hyl testified that as a leader, he had a duty to protect Wet'suwet'en land, water, burial sites, and historic trails from the degradation of pipeline construction. He said his actions against Coastal GasLink upheld the traditional Wet'suwet'en law of trespass.

"During the sentencing hearing this week, defence lawyer Rebecca McConchie said the chief's actions needed to be understood in the context of 'the oppression of Wet'suwet'en people in colonial history and the ongoing issues with #UncededLand.'

"The defence said the criminal contempt case punished the chief 'for upholding #IndigenousLaw because doing so breached a #colonial court order.'

"The judge acknowledged that questions around the rights and title of unceded #Indigenous territory, as well as how industrial projects consult with #FirstNations, remain unresolved."
