  5. #ICE Terrorizing #Navajo, #Yaqui and #Shawnee in #Arizona and #Oklahoma

    By #BrendaNorrell, #CensoredNews , Jan. 16, 2026

"ICE is terrorizing #NativeAmericans. A Navajo on his way to work in the #Phoenix Valley was grabbed by ICE on Monday. A #PascuaYaqui tribal member grabbed near #TohonoOodham's San Xavier District, bordering Tucson, reveals how federal agents are terrorizing U.S. citizens and migrants in detention. In Oklahoma, Absentee Shawnee are now being harassed and detained by ICE agents.

"Peter Yazzie, #Dine', was on his way to work in Peoria, in the Phoenix Valley, at 4 a.m., on Monday, when ICE grabbed him, ignoring his tribal ID and the fact that he is a U.S. citizen, reports Arlyssa D. Becenti, at the Arizona Republic.

"Peter Yazzie told ICE agents where they could locate his Certificate of Indian Blood, birth certificate and other documents proving that he was both a #USCitizen and #NativeAmerican. It made no difference. They aggressively placed him in the back of their vehicle and drove away early the morning of Monday, Jan. 12.'

"Yazzie was unaware that ICE was expanding operations throughout Phoenix and surrounding cities. Parked at a QT gas station between Peoria and Sun City near his job site, his morning began as usual, waking at 4 a.m. for his 5 a.m. shift."

  6. Largest cities and towns whose name ends with double “ee”

    Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Source: en.wikipedia.org

Listed below are the most populous cities and towns whose name ends in a double “ee.”

All the population figures are estimates from 2025, except where noted. Many place names that end in a double “ee” are derived from Native America words and/or terms. In other cases, they may be from the last name of a person. For those cities and towns where the Native American meanings is known, it is provided in italics next to the place name.

Thirty-nine (39) states are represented on the list with the most of the examples come from the Southeastern United States and Oklahoma where double “ee” is often translated from Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek, and Seminole languages. A good number also come from the Midwest for the Algonquin-related languages.

In English, “tree” appears to be the most common (non surname) term that creates a double “ee” ending for a city/town name.

As always, any additions, suggestions, or corrections are most welcome. After scanning numerous lists, it is always possible that some names may be overlooked.

    Peace!

Very cool to see #RoundHouse overalls (most made in #Shawnee #Oklahoma ) in the news.

But it is also striking that the #Trump tariffs aren't wanted by them either:

Excerpt: Among the top goals for Trump and his administration in hitting trading partners with steep tariffs is bringing manufacturing capacity back to the U.S., even if it comes at the price of short-term market and economic duress. But Antosh said tariffs won’t help his company.

“It’s a hardship for us,” Antosh said. “When jeans sewn outside the U.S. become more expensive from tariffs, we can’t subsidize our American-made jeans as much and their price must go up, meaning fewer customers can afford Made-in-USA.”

  21. The Newark Earthworks in Ohio are monuments to the human genius of ancient people who built them. These awe-inspiring structures have earned World Heritage status as one of the world’s most magnificent wonders. We can only guess the purposes and meanings they had for their builders and for others who have marveled at them over the centuries.

  24. The Newark Earthworks
This month in Newark, Ohio, the Octagon is finally open to the public. It is among the most impressive of North America’s many ancient earthworks, but it has been occupied for more than a century by a private country club golf course. As of January 1, the golfers are gone, and this World Heritage site belongs to the world.
