"Aufgrund eines Wasserrohrbruchs war in der George-Washington-Straße eine kurzzeitige Straßensperrung eingerichtet worden. Ein 29-jähriger Bauarbeiter befand sich zu diesem Zeitpunkt in einer etwa 1,60 Meter tiefen Baugrube, um den Schaden zu beheben. Im Zuge der Absperrungsmaßnahmen wollte ein Autofahrer mit seinem Mercedes-Benz den gesperrten Straßenabschnitt passieren und begann eigenmächtig, die aufgestellte Straßensperrung zu beseitigen.
Als der Bauarbeiter den Mann darauf hinwies, dass die Sperrung aufrechterhalten werden müsse, da die Fahrbahn aktuell nicht befahrbar sei, setzte der Autofahrer seine Handlungen fort, ohne auf die Aufforderung zu reagieren. Der 29-Jährige kletterte daraufhin aus der Baugrube. In diesem Moment ergriff der Tatverdächtige eine sogenannte Baumwurzelfolie mit einem Gewicht von etwa 15 Kilogramm und warf diese gezielt in Richtung des Bauarbeiters. Der Gegenstand traf den Mann im Rückenbereich. Infolge des Aufpralls stürzte der 29-Jährige. Er erlitt leichte Verletzungen am Knie und am Rücken. Darüber hinaus wurde seine Arbeitskleidung beschädigt. Der Tatverdächtige stieg anschließend in sein Auto und fuhr davon.
Der Tatverdächtige konnte im Rahmen der eingeleiteten Ermittlungen des Polizeireviers Mannheim-Käfertal als ein 45-jähriger Mann identifiziert werden. Ihn erwartet nun eine Anzeige wegen gefährlicher Körperverletzung. Ferner wird derzeit geprüft, ob führerscheinrechtliche Konsequenzen einzuleiten sind, da Zweifel an der charakterlichen Eignung des Mannes zum Führen von Kraftfahrzeugen bestehen."
Leider werden wir nie erfahren, ob es tatsächlich führerscheinrechtliche Konsequenzen gab oder nicht 🙄
Ihr könnt euch vorstellen, was in Mannheim so abgeht, wenn man nicht Bauarbeiter oder offizieller MItarbeiter der Stadt ist, sondern einfach "nur" radfahrende Person...

Overview Within the southeastern portion of the State of Washington, west of the Palouse region, are the Tri-Cities along the Columbia River named Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland. The communities are split between Benton County to the west and Franklin County to the east, with the City of Pasco serving as the county seat of Franklin County. The region is of notable historical significance and is culturally related to communities throughout the central portion of the state.
