Finally made it to the #RockAndRoll #HallOfFame. Underwhelming. It's like one good floor in the basement plus a video, garage band, the walk of fame and the gift shop.
I'm not against such places but they need proper curation. Same with award shows. It should be less about who is great but instead what's the bigger story and why do these artists, events and scenes matter. Provide multiple perspectives like a great museum does.
It's fine but you're better off with #500Songs.

#TIL that the Monkeess' song "Last Train To Clarksville" is about a soldier shipping off to Vietnam looking for one last booty call. Boyce&Hart intended it to be a stealthy anti-war protest song. Thinking about the lyrics now, it seems so obvious.
