I headed in the direction of home… south. I stopped at a little marina type place right across the water from the Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant. At this point in time I am not glowing in the dark.

And this is the point where I realized that my ISO was set to 1600. I changed it to 100 but I was almost done for the day so there aren’t many low ISO pics. Oh well.

"So far, the #NRC’s repeated inspections determined ASR in Seabrook Station’s structures poses no immediate threat to public safety."

After all, you were there with me at the #Seabrook protest in 1977, and you wrote this in 2018: "When the nuclear industry demonstrates it can build safe and economic power stations and manage the #ToxicWaste they produce, there will be a role for nuclear energy. Until then, we should base our future energy policy on existing #renewable options."
Do you have some inside information on how the nuclear industry has figured out what to do with the waste? I guess just dump it into the ocean, like #TEPCO? Or bury it in geologically unstable areas, preferably on #NativeAmerican lands (like #YuccaMountain)? Please, enlighten us!

"Federal regulators have released their annual safety report for #SeabrookNuclearPowerStation.
"However, an issue first brought to light more than a decade ago is still being closely watched by regulators.
"Alkali silica reaction, or #ASR, is a form of gelling in the plant's concrete.
"Retrofitted supports have been installed in some areas to compensate for cracking.
"'So as the concrete expands, it can create tresses in the building,' Daun said. 'So right now, they are monitoring it.'
"Joanna Hammond has long opposed the nuclear power station on the Seacoast.
"'I think they're doing the best they can. I don't think it's enough,' Hammond said.
"She said her concerns about a potential disaster were only made worse last summer when a false alarm was triggered over loudspeakers at #HamptonBeach, creating a temporary panic that something at the plant had gone wrong."
