ENDING FAT INSTABILITY
For the first time in a long, long life, I feel stable.
It is boring sometimes.
There is less drama, less urgency, less emotional weather pretending to be meaning.
But in a million years, I would not go back.
I would not go back to the fat instability of mind and body.
Six years of fasting have made the body lighter.
A year and a half of breathwork has made the mind quiet.
Routine has made the days trustworthy.
There is coffee in hand, a warm fire, Pete nearby, the dogs moving through the morning, and a body that no longer feels like an emergency waiting to happen.
None of this is glamorous.
It is simply a life that no longer needs to keep exploding into illness, falls, and confusion to prove that I am alive.
Sometimes peace is boring.
Good.
Boring is underrated.

Went to a #Dementia care place.
Shock #1 was walking around looking for my relative, walked through the lounge where many of the residents seem to sit most of the day.
Couldn't see him.
But he was there.
In the last week he's got to blending in.#2 was seeing him walking with a zimmerman frame, sway backwards, then lean forward onto the frame.
The frame slid forward (with the brakes on).
He fell.

In dog-friendly Australia it seems the non-native canine is the most dominant species. They are allowed to roam the (dog-free) beaches, the national parks and (pet-friendly) workplaces, flats, cafes, restaurants etc. If not straying, then they are on long or flexible, extendable leashes stretching across hallways and footpaths.
This trip-and-fall risk is human-unfriendly. The health, safety, and well-being of the bipedal companions is not considered. Pet dogs pose hygiene issues, potential zoonoses and allergy risks. The mental well-being of bite victims and phobia affected can trigger distress.
