  1. CW: God's Not Dead: We The People Spoilers

Holy frick this Taylor woman is unhinged. She thinks her husband was assassinated and that the public school system would put her son in a #SPED program and keep him from progressing in the way that he should?

(I’m being a bit harsh but this seems a bit silly to me.)

  4. Not me doing the hardest part of my job before school even starts….this is about to be the most beautiful schedule I’ve ever made. I charge $80k for this. #Teaching #SpecialEducation #SpED

  5. I did a pro bono consult and am left with a bit of a dilemma, so tell me , what would you do. 7yo girl attends a middle class . A 1st grade boy repeatedly enters the girl's bathroom and taunts the girl's as he looks at them under the doors. After the girl's privacy had been violated a number of times over weeks, she finally kicked the boy in the face the last time, as he was peering at her. Girl is developmentally delayed and school punished her, not 1/2

  12. @autisticengineer I was also late diagnosed. I always knew something was different. I labeled it #introversion. But there were no #resources or #support. Honestly, #SPED in those days would have been harmful for me. What I needed was emotional and social support. I did fine educationally, by good fortune.

The benefit knowing sooner would have been feeling less like a freak and winding up #SelfIsolating and #masking, on top of being in the #closet. So much #clarity now.

  17. CW: Autistic Burnout

I dropped out of a couple of school district #SPED #advocacy groups. I was just too overwhelmed. Burned out. But this sucks. I want to be there to advocate. But I don’t want burn out. Is there a way to do that? I’m torn.

I’m hesitant to commit because I fear burnout. But I want to represent. Is this just dumb? I’m not sure. So I’m asking, honestly.

  22. Had a shitty meeting with my child’s school #slp #sped director, and teacher about #neurodiverse affirming care, and why their constant questioning during remote sessions to try to force AAC usage is BS. It did not go well. #Education and therapists appear inextricably connected with #structuralableism forcing #ablednormalcy upon those of us who are #disabled and/or #neurodiverse I am grateful to read about this organization: therapistndc.org/advocacy/disa
