Wife's nephew came to visit with his family today. Brought the #recalbox joystick I made for him with a #rpi 3B+ almost 5 years ago. Was unplugged while on so I just had to run a fsck on the sd card. Now updating from recalbox 7 to 10. #retrogaming

I just played some PlayStation SimCity 2000 on my new #RecalBox install on the Raspberry Pi 3 in the living room... I'm impressed at how fast/smooth it is on a Pi 3... PSX SC2k was really slow to load on real hardware, and the loading time is similar here, but the music and the car-drivey-thingie worked totally naturally, without any hiccups. Very nice.

Trying to run my #signalis inspired #pico8 #lua game on #recalbox. Instead of true PICO-8, it runs fake-08, which has many issues. For example, it prints some numbers with a trailing .0, e.g. those that come out of flr and sub seems to not support negative indices. I guess I need to patch it in Lua for now.

I have a spreadsheet where I'm keeping track of various #retroGaming #handhelds and the #opensource firmwares that officially support them. I'm surprised which device is so far out in front of all the others.
The #TrimUiSmartPro; supported by #batocera #retronix #retropie #recalbox #lakka #arkos #knulli and #crossmixOS. It's not a powerful device, a little faster than the #Anbernic RGXX line, but at just under $100 it could be good for #Dreamcast
