  5. Wife's nephew came to visit with his family today. Brought the #recalbox joystick I made for him with a #rpi 3B+ almost 5 years ago. Was unplugged while on so I just had to run a fsck on the sd card. Now updating from recalbox 7 to 10. #retrogaming

  10. I should really document this setup.
Playing music with #MusicPlayerDaemon on my #Marantz controlled through a #VT420, both from around 1990.
Software is #MPD on #Debian on an #RPi 2. Soundcard is some cheap old usb Soundblaster, but using #lirc I can control MPD using its controller.
This all took some effort. 😌

  15. There are quite a few oldschool Amiga OCS/ECS demos that will run as intended, perfectly, smoothly only on base Amiga 1000, 500, 2000 systems with 68000 CPU -- unaccelerated. One example is TBL's Eon (2019) -- an incredible demo.

I've encountered a few games that fall into this category also.

Will these run properly with 68000-emulator accelerators such as the PiStorm? It emulates the 68000, but can it do so with 100% never-failing, cycle-exact precision when operating as a base, unaccelerated 68000 at 7.16/7.09 MHz?

The demos I speak of fail to run or run visibly broken with most accelerators, including my A2620 (14.32MHz 68020).

  26. The thing about #solar computing and #offgrid living is that on sunny days, even most days, there's plenty work to do outside / around the house. So, things like poking around net are left to night time and battery power. But thanks to cell hotspot, #rpi and a #lowenergy display, I can now stay online for well deserved hours of #smallweb #retro #futuristic #community fun!

  35. I'm curious to hear what others are #SelfHosting! Here's my current setup:

    Hardware & OS

    Infrastructure & Networking

    Security & Monitoring

    Authentication & Identity Management

    • Authelia (Docker): Just set this up for two-factor authentication and single sign-on. Seems to be working well so far!
    • LLDAP (Docker): Lightweight LDAP server for managing authentication. Also seems to be working pretty well!
      #AuthenticationTools #IdentityManagement

    Productivity & Personal Tools

    Notifications & Development Workflow

    • Notifications via: #Ntfy (Docker) and Zoho's ZeptoMail (#Zoho)
    • Development Environment: Mostly using VSCode connected to my server via Remote-SSH extension. #VSCodeRemote

    Accessibility Focus ♿️🖥️

Accessibility heavily influences my choices—I use a screen reader full-time (#ScreenReader), so I prioritize services usable without sight (#InclusiveDesign#DigitalAccessibility). Always open to discussing accessibility experiences or recommendations!

    I've also experimented with:

    • Ollama (#Ollama): Not enough RAM on my Pi.
    • Habit trackers like Beaver Habit Tracker (#HabitTracking): Accessibility issues made it unusable for me.

I don't really have a media collection, so no Plex or Jellyfin here (#MediaServer)—but I'm always open to suggestions! I've gotten a bit addicted to exploring new self-hosted services! 😄

What's your setup like? Any cool services you'd recommend I try?

  37. #SelfHosted #LinkAce Bookmark Manager Running, but Unable to Check for Updates or Generate a Cron Token

Hi all. Hoping someone in the #SelfHosting community can help here. I'm running LinkAce in #Docker behind non-Dockerized #Caddy and #Authelia, and most things are working, but I'm seeing "Could not check for updates" at the bottom of each page, and when I tried to generate a cron token, nothing happened except for the generate button graying out. I am seeing one or two 404 errors in my logs, but I don't know if that's causing the problem or not. I don't know much about #PHP applications.
