For my birthday, my boyfriend got me a Trimui Brick handheld gaming device as a surprise! He preloaded it with a bunch of Dragon Quest games, including my beloved Torneko no Daibouken: Fushigi no Dungeon. We set it up running MinUI with PakUI, and so far it works great.

yeah NextUI is pretty damn good. I added some custom paks for WiFi and favorites and pico-8 and stuff.
I've had very little instability, unlike knulli. the interface is less pretty than emulationstation, but not bad. definitely simplistic
LED control and function buttons also work. I've set F1 to save state and F2 to load state. and I've put save state and exit on menu + BI've copied over all my games and really made myself at home. it's very comfy :3

I have a spreadsheet where I'm keeping track of various #retroGaming #handhelds and the #opensource firmwares that officially support them. I'm surprised which device is so far out in front of all the others.
The #TrimUiSmartPro; supported by #batocera #retronix #retropie #recalbox #lakka #arkos #knulli and #crossmixOS. It's not a powerful device, a little faster than the #Anbernic RGXX line, but at just under $100 it could be good for #Dreamcast

I’ve been having a love-hate relationship with my #trimui smart pro. It does what it promises, and it is great. However I haven’t had any luck installing correctly #portmaster #tomatoOs or #knulli there is always something that breaks

Quick pros & cons of the TrimUI Smart handheld retro gaming emulator.
Pros:
- Both super compact & comfortable to play on
- Great D-pad and button feel
- Good looking screen
- Solid feel in hand
- Good valueCons:
- Small screen means text in games can be difficult to read
- No headphone jack for external headphones
- Stock firmware supports WiFi & Bluetooth but has issues. Custom firmware recommended (I'm using MinUI) -
And I just purchased my first retro emulation handheld!
Did I need one? Hell no!
I have OG GameBoys, a 3DS and a Switch. But for various reasons I don’t like taking them anywhere.
This one reminds me of the GameBoy Micro; but way cheaper with modern improvements.
