Here Are Your Free PlayStation Plus Essential Monthly Games For August, 2026
August is almost here, somehow, and PlayStation has announced another batch of “free” games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Free, of course, provided you keep handing Sony money every month.
As confirmed on the official PlayStation Blog, Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition, Big Walk and Signalis will be available to claim from Tuesday, August 4 until Monday, August 31. All three are included with every tier of PlayStation Plus.
AdvertisementsDying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition (PS4, PS5) is the headline game for August. Originally released in 2022, Techland’s open-world sequel drops you into a zombie-infested city where parkour, melee combat and questionable decision-making are your primary tools for survival.
The Reloaded Edition includes the Bloody Ties story DLC, firearms and the numerous updates Techland released following the game’s launch. It also supports up to four-player co-op, letting you bring some friends along to be eaten by the undead together.
PlayStation’s blurb describes it as a game where “survival meets action adventure” as Aiden Caldwell searches for answers about his past while getting dragged into the conflict between the city’s surviving factions.

Big Walk (PS5) is the next game and, as the name subtly suggests, involves going for a big walk. It’s a cooperative multiplayer adventure built around exploring a wide-open world, solving puzzles and figuring out how to communicate with your friends when the game suddenly takes away your ability to speak.
The PlayStation Blog calls it a “cooperative multiplayer adventure about teamwork and talking,” although there’s also time to relax, watch the sunset and kick your friend’s stolen binoculars into the ocean. Friendship is a beautiful thing.

Finally, there’s Signalis (PS4), a retro-styled psychological survival horror game from rose-engine. You play as Elster, a technician Replika searching for her missing partner while exploring a surreal dystopian world filled with puzzles, disturbing creatures and cosmic horror.
PlayStation pitches it as a “tense and melancholic experience of cosmic dread,” which sounds wonderfully cheerful. Although only the PS4 version is listed, it can naturally also be played on PS5 through backwards compatibility.

So, that’s August’s lineup. Dying Light 2 is the obvious big-name attraction, but Big Walk looks like it could provide some entertaining co-op nonsense, while Signalis is there for anyone who prefers their evenings filled with existential dread and horrible monsters.
Before August’s games arrive, you have until August 3 to claim July’s PlayStation Plus Essential lineup, consisting of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, For The King II and CrossCode.

It's Saturday and that can only mean one thing.... #WhatImPlaying
I started #LunaAbyss this morning (yes, I've been awake since 4am). Through the first ninety minutes or so I can see they've cracked the feeling of DOOM x Returnal, although it's much more linear than the latter (which is a good thing for me).
The games also got a real nice visual style. It sort of reminds me of that puzzle game from a few years ago where the entire E3 reveal was basically phallic imagery and weeping cocks...but without any of the phallic imagery or weeping cocks....and ab added layer of #Signalis on top; it's super cool.
I also wrapped up my play through of #007FirstLight at the end of last weekend. Whilst I don't think it maintains it's exceptional start, it's still a really good game and something I'll be keeping an eye on going forward.
I also called time on #ForzaHorizon6. It's another one of those games. It could use a rethink imo, but that's more down to it being a little.....samey than anything else; the core game is still fantastic and it'll keep fans busy for a good long while, I just think the formula is wearing a little thin now.

Боже, храни инди разработчиков! SIGNALIS мне нравится просто ВСЕМ! Начиная от геймплея, напоминающий первые Резиденты. красивая графика. Особенно хочу выделить саундтрек. Как же я обожаю такой мрачный амбиент, который можно слушать отдельно. Например на работе, будучи интровертом, слушать трек из видео (там где школа) ВЕСЬ ДЕНЬ НА ПОВТОРЕ. Да, это не шутка. В общем, такие игры должны жить вечно!
