Got some time to work on #TransFS my FUSE based FS designed to allow you to maintain one set of retro gaming software content, and magically serve it in the right form/dir structure to #MiSTer / #Mame / #Retropie etc.

Now includes a downloader that’s makes/pulls entire collections and #Zaparoo support for launching from the TransFS.

Big git push planned tomorrow!

I found a very reasonable looking tutorial on setting up #RetroPie on #Ubuntu and since I do #Mint I figure wth..

The sudo setup command starts a flurry of git clones and compiles.. 15 mins later yay config gui.. then the app launches..yesss

I copy over a couple games.. open it..there they are..click play.. blink..blink..nope. 🤦‍♂️

I think its video compatability.. the x11 wayland thing and I dwanna play with it.. boff..

Do got #Redream goin tho.. so theres that..

Anyone that could push me in the right direction with a small "just for fun" project?

- According to the docs (https://retropie.org.uk/docs/First-Installation/) not everything is installed. Is there any information, which emulators are coming with the default image? Or the other way around: how do I know, which Emulators are installed so that I can either add additional ones or know which ROMs I could play out of the box?

- Roms... On Reddit there is a "megathread 4.0" which links to github. Github links to Myrient and the Internet Archive. I'm not sure.... everyone is talking about copyright: Are the Roms on Internet Archive or Myrient legal or not?

I have a spreadsheet where I'm keeping track of various #retroGaming #handhelds and the #opensource firmwares that officially support them. I'm surprised which device is so far out in front of all the others.

The #TrimUiSmartPro; supported by #batocera #retronix #retropie #recalbox #lakka #arkos #knulli and #crossmixOS. It's not a powerful device, a little faster than the #Anbernic RGXX line, but at just under $100 it could be good for #Dreamcast

Con optimizaciones para #ConectarIgualdad G1/G2/G3 pero se puede instalar en cualquier equipo en el que corra Antix (o sea, casi cualquiera).

Hoy es día de celebrar!!!!

Tras varias semanas batallando con #retroarch y no conseguir hacerlo funcionar correctamente recorde que en Raspberry siempre utilizo #retropie y que no me había dado problemas aunque me costaba más de configurar. Nunca había instalado sistemas de x64 ya que solo emulaba retro con píxeles como puños pero como no conseguía hacer funcionar #wii , #gamecube y #ps2 he querido probar si con retropie lo solucionaba y efectivamente ahora está todo funcionando 100%.

Mi pepinoarcade ahora está con todos los emuladores funcionando, con los #wiimotes registrándose a la primera, con la ps2 funcionando a tope y gracias a ello soy feliz.

2 días de vacaciones y ya he solucionado una de mis primeras tareas pendientes y ahora soy un poco más feliz.

Ahora tengo un portátil para llevármelo de viaje y poder jugar a todo los juegos retro hasta la Wii.

So for the time being, I was able to install janky official #Debain iso and upgrade it to #Bookwork with the official repos.

I will probably have to install all the emulators individually. Holler at your boy if you know some good emulators for the following:

3) #Wonderswan
4) #AtariLynx

The Samsung Frame TV has a power status of “in transition from standby to on" when scanned from the CEC bus, when the TV is in Art Mode.

Also, it looks like the CEC bus uses IP addresses, or something that looks like them, with four octal numbers.

The Raspi 4 arrived promptly and now I'm in an endless loop switching between the #OpenWebRX to listen to local ham activity and scanning, and the #RetroPie sd card for all the retro gaming nostalgia.

I've repurposed the Master System Retropie I build into a NAS since I don't game on it that often but we need a family Jellyfin & photo backup server. But, ever since I built it as a Retropie console, I've wondered what to do with the Pause button and the Cartridge slot because they're too cool not to use.

I finally figured out both! I've stuck a MicroSD extension inside the slot so I can easily swap between the NAS and Retropie cards, and I'm going wire the LEDs I put inside through the Pause button so that pressing it will turn on the light rather than having it glowing all the time. Super excited!

Now I just need to get a Minecraft Server running too...
