  1. The #rpi4b was freed up by moving everything it was doing to an #IntelNUC so we'll see how this goes. I might go for another NUC to run the various self-hosted services, and later convert the #raspberrypi to a #kodi endpoint

    Since each connection can run on its own core, I tested with 4 simultaneous transfers and got 22MB/s on each connection for a maximum transfer rate of 88MB/s when doing parallel #backups.

  17. The long sought #LinuxAudio Holy Grail of running #JackD applications like #Supercollider in #rpi4b (and presumably everywhere) #Pipewire is so incredibly simple yet so widely unknown:

    Step 1: get rid of jackd you don't need it.

    and you're done!

    Here's what you do instead: pw-jack -r 44100 sclang

  22. The euphoria didn't last long in /this/ Rabbit Hole of Dispair #RHoD: I misspoke about #SuperCollider finally on #rpi4b — I'd only really tested a WAV file; in sclang itself, everything sounds like vespa scooters.

    Even something as simple as…
    (
    { var ampOsc;
    ampOsc = SinOsc.kr(0.25, 1.5pi, 0.5, 0.5);
    Pan2.ar([ SinOsc.ar([220,330,550], 0, ampOsc) ], SinOsc.kr(0.5));
    }.play;
    )

    Fresh git install on laptop Ubuntu 22 renders fine, and the pi plays WAV/mp3 ok, so must be some sc-mismatch?

  27. This is proving more difficult than it should be: how to connect a headless #rpi4b to a #bluetooth speaker using #Debian12 with #pipewire. Even the official wiki, after explaining why pulseaudio is so last year, only gives troubleshooting advice for PA!

    We are paired and connected, but aplay and mpg123 are silent.

    One trail led to #bluez-alsa (without dbus) but bluezalsa never appears, still no sound, and yes, I checked alsamixer :)

    I expect alsa-info will be my bedtime epic reading tonight…

    I started reading #Comics some weeks ago, and I’m enjoying it so much!

    However, I cannot run #Komga in my server. I’m using #DietPi in a #rpi4b. I installed Komga with both #Docker and the diet-pi software tool. But I’m unable to run it, I cannot access the interface.

    Do you have any suggestions how to solve it?

  51. With an SSD added to my #RPi4B for my #HomeAssistant, I wanted to temporarily have it near me for the next step.

    I designed and #3Dprinted some SSD-holder clamps to let me gang the SSD with the RPi mounting screws. Mounting that to a simple floor-stand.

    I want an "automation" to drive audio out of the RPi output jack.

    Not sure how hard audio output will be. Would expect it to be trivial, but there are often surprises along the way.

    Started making my first using on a ! Also tried using for the first time while setting up .

    Not sure of the difference between using to install services or installing via the dietpi-software list. Anyhow, I'm enjoying the process so far! But soon I'll have to learn how to expose my Pi to the Internet via reverse proxies or tunnels. It is very intimidating, hope it works!

    So... I actually just dug out an unopened Raspberry Pi 1 Model B (rev. 2) that I bought in 2012. It's late, so I just flashed the Lite Raspi OS onto the included "kit" 8GB card, assembled a very basic acrylic case and changed the wpa_supplicant.conf to get the WiFi dongle to connect. Had a few hickups, but it connected in the end! My has yet to be shipped out...
