@sonicdebris scusami però yunohost è perfetto per hosting che tieni proprio in casa, su un pc sempre acceso e connesso a internet, non per un server remoto. Se ti server un server remoto, puoi provare loro (https://www.servereasy.it/cloud-vps/) ma a quel punto ti conviene usare una distro più tradizionale, come Debian. O meglio, è possibile comunque usare #yunohost per carità, ma penso abbia poco senso, perché duplicheresti molte funzioni di un vps.

Ja Herbert, bin mit #yunohost auf meinem VServer (bei Strato) sehr zufrieden. Nutze dort #leantime #bookstack und #languagetool

Auf #umbrel bei mir Zuhause nutze ich #seafile #jellyfin und #heimdall (kommt noch mehr hinzu)

Derzeit steht bei #umbrel mein erstes Upgrade an (siehe Foto), das wird spannend für mich, ob dann noch alles läuft.😉

Weiterhin klappt nach meinem Umzug der Fernzugriff über #wireguard an der Fritz!Box nicht mehr, weil mein Provider #deutscheglasfaser da irgendwie herumzickt. Werde wohl auf den VServer einen WireGuard-Server installieren, um das Problem zu lösen. Möchte von außen gerne wieder auf meinen Umbrel-Server zugreifen können.

Comme je l’ai souligné précédemment, la «disparition» de certaines instances de la Fédiverse, tout comme la «fin» de certains projets (je pense à #Pismo ou #Zap) pose la question de la place des utilisateurs et utilisatrices dans les dispositifs de la Fédiverses.

Formellement , vu sous cet angle, il n’y a pas de différence entre l’arrêt de #DryCat et l’arrêt de #GooglePlus ou celui de #Wonderlist. A un détail prêt… lorsque #Google ou #Microsoft ferment un service ils laissent les utilisateurs et utilisatrices en plan, assez souvent sans véritable alternative…

Dans le cas de #DryCat, d’une part l’animateur du projet prend la peine d’accompagner la fermeture des services, de l’autre il existe ailleurs d’autres instances pour chacun de ceux-ci (c’est la définition même de la fédération), et qui plus est les données des utilisateurs et utilisatrices peuvent être récupérer.

Un logiciel comme #Mastodon intègre même désormais la migration d’instance si j’ai bien suivi. Ce devrait bientôt être le cas pour #Plemora aussi…

Il y a aussi une différence politique :

Je crois qu’il y a une différence de sens entre Microsoft qui a racheté #Wonderlist pour piller son savoir faire et ses compétences (ou pour le tuer le projet), et une expérience comme #DryCat qui ferme par lassitude ou épuisement…

Dans le premier cas c’est une logique de guerre économique, dans le second c’est la vie: les projets sont fait pour vivre, se développer (ou non) et souvent mourir de leur belle mort.

Ceci étant dit, dans la mesure où la promesse de la Fédiverse est décentralisation et fédération, par opposition à la logique de silo et de service centralisé des «gros» médias sociaux, ne faudrait-il pas aller plus loin… A savoir assumer le caractère temporaire des dispositifs de la #Fédiverse.

Les échanges sur Mastodon, Plemora, les partages de musique sur #Funkwhale ou de vidéos sur #Peertube ne s’inscrivent-ils pas finalement dans une temporalité donnée, au même titre qu’une conversation au bistro, une soirée projection, ou un prêt de CD… Quelque chose qui peut être bref, ou inversement assez long, Mais qui ne contient aucune promesse d’éternité.

Du coup cela impliquerait de sortir de l’analogie alternative… Mastodon c’est comme #Twitter en mieux, Peerttube c’est comme #Youtube en mieux, etc. Mastodon, Plemora, Peertube, Funkwhale, et Cie c’est autre chose et autrement qui offre aux utilisateurs et utilisatrices bien plus que d’être «comme» ceci ou cela avec du respect des données personnelles en prime.

A commencé par le fait que chacun·e peut participer d’une façon ou d’une autre (modération, documentation, financement), créer pourquoi pas une instance quelconque (avec #Yunohost c’est easy &cool), s’associer à un projet collectif, inventer un usage particulier. Se faire média en quelque sorte pour ne plus consommer du média social, ou l’inverse…

Have you tried self-hosted with #YunoHost or #Cloudron?
Both handle Let's Encrypt by design without much user intervention, it's just default when adding new domains and are wildcards on demand for the naked domain or subdomain apps.. It really help self-hosting in two different ways.. (cloudron being docker) Yunohost being bash scripting for most of the app packages, in both you can deploy Mastodon with a few clicks or CLI commands.. #lovingit
