@sonicdebris scusami però yunohost è perfetto per hosting che tieni proprio in casa, su un pc sempre acceso e connesso a internet, non per un server remoto. Se ti server un server remoto, puoi provare loro (https://www.servereasy.it/cloud-vps/) ma a quel punto ti conviene usare una distro più tradizionale, come Debian. O meglio, è possibile comunque usare #yunohost per carità, ma penso abbia poco senso, perché duplicheresti molte funzioni di un vps.

Effektiver mein digitales Zeug selbst verwalten(self-hosting) ist mein Ziel für das Jahr 2026! 😉

YunoHost ist daher mein aktuelles Projekt, recherchieren dazu und Vorauswahl machen. 😁

Ich mag und brauche das gelegentliche digitale herumfrickeln in meinem Leben, auch wenn dadurch manchmal Stress entsteht und ich die Haare mir raufe deswegen. 😅

Bisher hat @markus dieses verwalten des digitalen Raum übernommen, was ausgezeichnet und ohne Mängel funktioniert. 👌

Zukünftig will ich jedoch wieder mehr selbst involviert sein und dabei noch das ein oder andere lernen diesbezüglich, zumal ich bei Linux in Form von Mint(Arbeiten) & Arch(Daddeln) seit ein paar Jahren schon investiert bin im privaten. 😊

je confirme l'utilité de Paheko 👍
au début nous avions (2 asso) des feuilles de tableurs... c'est bien pour tenir/présenter les choses sur une année mais pas sur plusieurs.
le temps d'apprentissage de la comptabilité est avec Paheko un investissement payant pour tout: demande de subvention,déclarations,AG etc
maintenant la dizaine d'asso ou je suis l'utilise toute

I tried to install #matrix #synapse and decided to give up for now.

It seems like it is a common pain in the community, and I can agree.

Now, in my case, I'm self hosting using #yunohost because I value simplicity. Whenever, I try to install it, it is painfully long, gives me errors, fails and uninstalls everything.

Just like Linux, if self-hosting is overly complex, I'm not interested.

For now, I'll stick to Matrix #tuwunel . It doesn't give me voice chat and screen sharing, but text chat works. That's gonna be good enough for now.

That being said, we will need a decent free and open source #foss alternative to #discord asap

My current #matrix server uses #tuwunel , which is a lightweight version of matrix. With the default #yunohost installation, I don't think it has voice chat and screensharing. And so far, I only used the #fluffychat client.

The real full-featured version is #synapse . I wanna try hosting it myself and see if it can actually replace #discord with the Element client.

Does Tuwunel work with ElementX (aka has sliding sync etc)? Does it work with video calls? Is it actively maintained?

I love the idea of a lighter weight Matrix server, but am mainly worried that it wouldn't support the basic features we need (eg video calls) or that it would fall behind SYnapse on some necessary stuff (although we don't care about stuff like spaces, threads etc).
