I think I just managed to make my Object Storage (#s3 compatible) work on my #peertube

First, it took 2 weeks because I got a bug with #ovhcloud where they wouldn't deliver the product.

When I got it set up, it was quite straight forward. Just copy/paste all the infos and keys into the peertube config file.

My only struggle was realizing that I had to apply some #cors settings to my bucket.

Other than that, #yunohost makes selfhosting quite easy.

The next step will be to migrate my videos to the instance.

@macbraughton @metin For now, I have my old laptop hosting my Gitea, which is connected to the VPS through a WireGuard VPN tunnel, because I can't expose services over the Internet from home since I'm behind a CG-NAT.

I used to use cloudflared, which was a Cloudflare tunnel to expose private resources. The problem is that I find it very invasive to use cloudflared as a reverse proxy and pass everything through the Cloudflare network.

@metin I moved from Github to a self-hosted Gitea instance that I self-host on OVH, a European cloud provider.

I also moved my .dev top-level domain from Google to EURid's .eu.

I'm very happy with these changes. I no longer have to put up with AI's obsession every time I did something on GitHub.

On top of that, I no longer use Cloudflare, and recently had to install Anubis (Web AI Firewall) to stop being attacked by AI Crawlers from openai and other Big Tech companies that were scanning all the commits on my Gitea (public repositories ofc).

Alexandre Roure of the Computer & Communications Industry Association, whose members include many Big Tech groups, says the debate about blunt market access restrictions for non-EU tech companies “only distracts policymakers from the real task: finally delivering a functioning digital single market with clear, simple and practical rules”.

In private conversations, several Big Tech lobbyists and executives also express confidence in their ability to continue dominating the European market given the paucity of homegrown alternatives and the lack of urgency among many consumers.

OVHcloud wraz z AMD wspierają startupy AI

OVHcloud ogłosiło uruchomienie programu Fast Forward AI Accelerator, inicjatywy skierowanej do startupów tworzących rozwiązania oparte na sztucznej inteligencji.

Program, który ruszył 25 lutego 2025 roku w Paryżu, ma na celu przyspieszenie rozwoju młodych firm AI poprzez dostęp do infrastruktury chmurowej OVHcloud, mentoring oraz warsztaty prowadzone we współpracy z AMD.

Fast Forward AI Accelerator to kontynuacja wcześniejszego programu OVHcloud, ale tym razem z wyraźnym fokusem na AI. Wybrano 15 startupów spośród setek aplikacji z całej Europy – od francuskiego Mistral AI po brytyjskie Stability AI – które przez trzy miesiące będą korzystać z zasobów OVHcloud, w tym GPU NVIDIA H100 i L40S, oraz wsparcia ekspertów. Program zakończy się w kwietniu pokazem demo, gdzie finaliści zaprezentują swoje projekty inwestorom i partnerom.

„AI to siła transformacyjna, a my chcemy ułatwić startupom jej rozwój w sposób zrównoważony i suwerenny” – powiedział Michel Paulin, były CEO OVHcloud, który zainicjował projekt.

Firma podkreśla, że oferuje nie tylko technologię, ale i wartości – brak vendor lock-in, ochronę danych i efektywność energetyczną. Współpraca z AMD dodatkowo wzbogaci program o warsztaty techniczne, pomagając uczestnikom optymalizować ich rozwiązania AI.

To kolejny krok OVHcloud w budowie ekosystemu AI w Europie. Program już teraz przyciągnął uwagę, a zgłoszenia do kolejnej edycji zaplanowanej na jesień 2025 ruszą pod koniec roku. Dla startupów to szansa na skalowanie innowacji – dla OVHcloud potwierdzenie pozycji lidera w chmurze wspierającej AI na rynku europejskim.
