— А твоё?
Она посмотрела так, будто вопрос требовал уточнения.
— Имя — это ссылка на объект. Я не объект.

Я промолчал.

— Тогда почему ты выглядишь женщиной?
— Так быстрее.
— Быстрее что?
— Разговор.

Она произнесла это без тени иронии.

Я вдруг понял, что она вообще не умеет шутить.
— Меч настоящий?
— Да.
— Зачем?
— Люди лучше реагируют на инструменты, назначение которых могут угадать.

— То есть это оружие?
— Нет.
Она вынула рукоять. Лезвие вспыхнуло мягким белым светом. Не синим. Не зелёным. Белым.
Она коснулась им каменной колонны. Ничего не произошло. Никаких искр. Никаких разрезов. Колонна просто исчезла.
Без взрыва. Без пыли. Без звука. Будто никогда не существовала.

— Ты её уничтожила?
— Нет.
— Тогда что, блядь, произошло???
— Я удалила её текущую реализацию.
— И... где она теперь?
— Нигде.

Она говорила об этом так же спокойно, как сантехник сказал бы: «Я перекрыл воду». Я почувствовал холод.

— Ты можешь сделать так с человеком?
— Да.
— Почему тогда не делаешь?

Она впервые типа задумалась. Ровно настолько, насколько процессор задумывается перед выполнением следующей инструкции.

— Потому что меня не просили.
— А если попросят?
— Зависит от формулировки.

Я нервно усмехнулся.

— Хорошо. Спаси наши души.
Она замолчала.
Дольше обычного.
Наверное... секунду.
Потом сказала:
— Запрос принят.
И впервые за всё время в её глазах появилось что-то похожее на эмоцию.
Позже я пойму, что ошибся. Это не была эмоция. Это был индикатор активности.
Она смотрела уже не на меня. Она смотрела куда-то глубже пространства. Туда, где Вселенная исполняла саму себя.

— Что ты делаешь?
— Читаю бинарник определения души.
— Он... существует?
— Конечно.
— И что там?
— Очень старый проект.

Она наклонила голову. Потом тихо сказала:
— Кто это писал?..

И впервые за миллиарды лет во Вселенной возникла пауза.
Не потому, что остановилось время.
Через мгновение она подняла взгляд.

— Исправление возможно.

— Правда?

— Да.

— Тогда почему никто этого не сделал раньше?

— Не было запроса. — Потому что впервые кто-то читал не историю Вселенной. А исходный код.

Она закрыла глаза.

— Теперь я понимаю.

— Что?

— Почему вы молитесь.

— И почему?

Она посмотрела на меня почти с сочувствием.

— Потому что не знаете, что у проблемы есть исходники.

Поставил Ente. Позиционируют себя как «замена Google Photo», амбициозненько 😉 А по факту имеем:

• опенсорц, как вы любите 😉
• 10 Гб в облаке бесплатно; платные тарифы дорогие, есть селфхост
• e2ee шифрование: сервер не видит фоток, не использует для обучения и т.д.
• клиент-галерея для Android, десктопное приложение, веб-версия
• простенький и плохой редактор
• можно делиться фоточками, создавать альбомы для загрузки фоточек другими людьми (без регистрации)
• на десктопе есть синхронизация как в режиме «папка в обе стороны», так и бэкап всего облака на компьютер (в одну сторону)
• можно перемещать фоточки в альбомы, независимые от родной галереи (на десктопе, соответственно, синхронизированная папка обновится)

А теперь самое интересное. Есть Machine Learning (не называют это AI, за что отдельное спасибо). Причем локальный. Причем даже на телефоне (на десктопе что-то сфейлил, но синхронизировался с телефоном). Тяжело, долго, однако 1,5 Гб фоток на моем тапке в конце концов переварил. Распознает лица, а главное — сюжет, цвета и вот это всио. Не слишком точно, но собрать «все фотки с котятами» вполне реально (в выдачу, разумеется, могут попасть и щеночки 😉). В целом выглядит очень круто. Плохо, что нет возможности открыть найденную фотку в том месте, где она лежит рядом с остальными.

Да, требует КВН на всех платформах 😥

В целом, впечатление производит очень положительное, функционал интересный, в 10 Гб влезет 3–5 тыс. фоток, я ХЗ, много это или мало для телефона (хотя телефон тут не является обязательным элементом: есть десктопный клиент со всем функционалом и веб-версия — без индексации, т.к. всё локально происходит).

One thing I always thought would be interesting is have a game where the characters and creatures are actually controlled via a simple neural network. The idea being that the could "learn" and adapt to the world around them.

Turns out, as I figured it would be, this not a new idea. Someone has, in fact, already created this concept into a game.

What I DID find interesting was the fact this game was made 30 YEARS AGO. Creatures came out on PC in 1996 and had these cute little creatures called Norns.

Each Norn (and other creatures found through the game) are controlled by an updating neural network leading to emergent game play.

I found that the game is on Steam so I've grabbed a copy and I am keen to give it a play through.

I am curious how far the idea could be pushed today. With more powerful hardware how big could we comfortably make each creatures brain? Or how many of the simple ones could we run at once?

Nem jó, de nem is tragikus.
Az biztos, hogy a legutóbbi Claude által készítettnél informatívabb, edukatívabb, viszont vizuálisan eléggé katasztrófa és sok gombja nem is teljesen működik.

Viszont, sokkal jobban tanul, nem fagy ki, de amennyire nyomorodott, nem látni nagyon semmit belőle.

De, ez azzal az alap prompttal készül, amelyiket mindegyik modell megkap a teszt során. Ahhoz képest viszont jó!

Most akkor kicsit finomítok rajta, mert lehet ebből tényleg lehet személetes oktató anyag a végén. (Mindegyiknél ezt mondom, aztán néhány kör után megy a kukába mégis.)

Despite the engineered mystique around "AI" models, their mathematical essence is rather mundane. To the point that it can indeed be optimized in hardware!

But a single beefed up GPU would not be up to the task as the data sets and #neuralnetwork sizes grew gigantic. The aggregation and deep interconnection of multiple units is what ushered the era of the "AI" #datacenter.

The important point: its all down to speed. Rushing to capitalize on the hype, the #FOMO, to preempt regulation etc

Is it just me or are those #neuralnetwork pictures completely wrong? There are no noses learnt on the layers, it's just optimal weight values, learned through gradient descent?

I don't talk about Darknet/YOLO much anymore on Mastodon. But I maintain the modern Darknet/YOLO repo.

This repo, written in C++ and CUDA, is used to analyze images and video frames to find objects. You train a neural network to identify things you need, and then you give it images or videos to inspect.

Darknet/YOLO is completely free. Uses the Apache 2 license.

@naturepunk You don't have to keep using the term #AI for that. What you might use sounds like a #NeuralNetwork trained specifically for that purpose. Machine learning is another fitting term. I know a lot of research project that used this technique and I think all can work without labelling it AI. It's just a tool for humans to use, after all.

Artificial intelligence promises and claims to be more. In our society, intelligence justifies agency. People can be denied agency by disputing their intelligence. Plants and animals are similarly subjugated. On the other hand, tech oligarchs want their #LLM|s to be seen as intelligent because they want to give them agency and take it away from workers.

I say the term AI is loaded and burnt. We don't need AI for #solarpunk
