The #mp3 player I ordered has arrived. Got the #HiBy #R4 with #Bluetooth connection. Has the #Google play store, so easy to download #apps, but I only really want to keep #chrome and #NothingX on it (I wouldn't imagine suitable for gaming). Already downloaded my #DollyParton tracks to it over #wifi from #7Digital. So far, working great.

My plan to own my #music again starts with locating an #mp3 player. So far, I have landed on the #HiBy #R4 player with #Bluetooth connection. Expandable memory up to #2TB. Next, I have a list of #artists I plan to go through, one at a time as budget allows, to stock up on my favorite #tracks. I'm feeling like it's 2002 and it feels good.

I use my #hiby R1 as my main music player. And my #ipod classic as my secondary one. In the first year the Hiby corrupted the microSD 4 times as I copied music on it. Means I had to reformat the card and copy all of the music onto it.
On the other hand the iPod has a 256GB microSD mod and it let me exactly 0 times down. 🙃 This iPod is ca. 20 years old and still much stable than this modern counterpart.

I’m using mostly my #Hiby R1 and my own #Navidrome instance for music listening, mixed with some #AppleMusic but maaaan, I always get back to my old #iPod
They are still so unbelievably reliable and feel so good in the hand. It’s my guilty pleasure to flip around those 5 pieces I have 😅 -

So stoked. I was able to find a #FiiO M11 Plus LTD with 2 of the #AK4497EQ #DAC chips for a reasonable price.

Only 5k of them were made because of the chip shortage, and, after days of research (to figure out that this was the #DAP I wanted to get as an #upgrade from my #HiBy R3), and weeks of searching (on #eBay, #HeadFi, #Headfonia, etc.) I was able to find one. Shipped yesterday! -
Why are my #hobbies so goshdarn expensive?
I want to upgrade to a newer hi-fi #DAP #MusicPlayer (upgrading from my #Hiby R3 from 2018)...and was looking at the HiBy RS2...but then I saw the #FiiO M11+ LTD (for reference: https://fiio.com/m11plusltd).
Now I am drooling over that because I am a bitch with super expensive taste, and I inherited my dad's ears, and low-quality sound is 🤮.
I guess I am going to have to try it out when I am in NYC in Feb. It's so pretty. 🤩
