Ich hab den Nachmittag genutzt um mal mit meinem Plattenspieler bei einem HIFI-Spezi vorbeizufahren und verschiedene Abtastsysteme ausprobiert. Es ist dann doch kein Ortofon geworden, sondern audio-technica AT33EV
Etwas teurer als geplant, aber der Aufpreis ist es definitiv Wert. Die getesteten Ortofon 2M (rot, blau, bronze) waren auch gut, aber das hier passt einen Tick besser als das bronze... Die für einen höheren Preis waren dann schon noch ein bisschen besser, aber imho rechtfertig es nicht dafür den Preis einen gebrauchten Kleinwagens auszugeben.

Динамики: когда «хорошо» не бывает
Это четвертая статья серии о том, почему акустика, которая хорошо измеряется, может плохо звучать В первой статье выяснилось то, что АЧХ суммирует всю поступившую энергию независимо от времени её прихода. Во второй — что помещение добавляет к звуку большое количество отраженных копий и резонансов, с которыми надо научиться дружить. В третьей — что качество воспроизведения низких частот сухие цифры характеристик не отражают. Первые три статьи рассматривали вопросы, находящиеся за пределами самих динамиков: измерительную методику, влияние комнаты, особенности конструкции корпуса. Все они были решены одна за другой: я переставил мебель, заглушил порт, использовал только действительно работающие цифровые фильтры. Теперь же обсудим ситуацию, когда проблема рождается на этапе создания ещё до выпуска модели на рынок и устранить её впоследствии невозможно. В моем случае признаки были стабильными и конкретными. Где-то в верхней середине начинался участок , который звенел у меня в ушах , и у этого участка была отчётливо слышимая нижняя граница. Ниже неё звучание оставалось нормальным, однако начиная с определённой ноты появлялись неприятные ощущения, причём всегда на одних и тех же частотах. Из-за этого вместо отдыха от повседневного шума я проводил время, внимательно прислушиваясь к недостаткам воспроизведения. Итогом становились напрасно потраченное время, повышенная усталость и выход из комнаты раздражённым. В этой статье я хочу рассмотреть конструктивные решения, влияющие на звук, показать, почему эквализация здесь неэффективна, и подсказать как прогнозировать последствия таких решений исходя из общедоступной информации.

Just managed to stop myself buying some Wharfedale Denton 2s from the local charity shop. Only £20 but were in poor condition and would have needed some work I reckon.
I'll stick with my Diamond IIIs for now. Still going strong after I repaired a magnet.

The problem with old radios: DAB or DAB+ was not invented then, so they are at best FM (dubious, if really ancient). Micro #HiFi or separate components. So that while some stuff look fancy, they are essentially useless, not worth anything apart from being a display piece and that means that you need extra space for such devices.
This is a pity as there are really cool looking devices of old.

Quick question to the HIFI-bubble. I have a Pro-Ject RPM 1.3 Genie. It came with the Ortofon 2M Red and I upgraded it to a 2M Blue some years ago. Now I am thinking of replacing it with a Bronze. The alternative would be a new needle for the Blue. 139€ vs. 360€. Is it worth it?

Today I finally found a purpose for my #RaspberryPi after it had been sitting on a shelf for almost two years. 😄
I set up a tiny home music server using Samba, #ReadyMedia and #Syncthing.Now every FLAC album I buy on #Qobuz is automatically synchronized via #SyncThing from my Mac to the Raspberry Pi and instantly becomes available in my home music library e.g. for the Technics SA-C600.

Nearly two decades ago now, I volunteered at a community radio station. They still had a reel-to-reel tape deck (that I never operated), MiniDisc (that I did use), and broadcast-grade loop tapes.
The loop tapes were like 8-tracks, except with one stereo track that was up to a few minutes long.
You'd pop it into the machine, hit play, and it would play, and then it would fast forward back to the start of the tape ready for next time.
They used them for station promos and some music.
The MiniDisc was a proper HiFi stereo unit.
Good times!
