I'm currently revisiting #qobuz and it just occured to me that there is no native streaming service app (afaik) that can organize albums (or playlists) into collections. It's so simple and I'm sure many people prefer to sort their music in some meaningful ways without having to run their own media server or pay for something like Roon.

While Qobuz doesn't have collections natively, there is this excellent third-party open source app QBZ for linux desktops that does exactly that. I can finally organize albums into "my top of the year" or thematically.

And there is more - it can also add local folders and Plex servers to your library (Jellyfin is the the works) and filter by format and quality etc. - really expands the limited functionality of the Qobuz client. I wish there was something like that for #Tidal 🤔

Le son dépend de tellement de paramètres, qui n'appartiennent qu’à un individu, qu'il est probablement vain de vouloir comparer quoique ce soit. Hormis bien sûr le fait de distribuer de la musique non compressée (enfin pas trop), ou en Hi-Res qui reste une norme technique claire, mais aux déclinaisons nombreuses.

Bref, j'utilise les deux plateformes en alternance, et en utilisant mon casque #Focal Bathys, la différence n'existe quasiment pas.
C'est qui important je pense est que la plateforme indique clairement la compression de diffusion.

En revanche, entre le Flac (et équivalents) et le mp3 il n'y a pas photo.

Après vous pouvez toujours vous perdre dans la quête du son parfait.

Glad to hear that #Qobuz is doing so well! I've been a satisfied subscriber for almost 3 years.

My main listening setup is comprised of a #Wiim Pro, #SMSL AO200 MKII preamp, and #RogersoundLabs speakers + subwoofer. Qobuz is integrated into #Audirvana , so I can seamlessly alternate between streaming albums and FLAC files from my own library.
