All those phones still work and have batteries that last weeks not hours.
None of them has ever disclosed my location to Faecbook, although the original #Luddyphone used to do Twitter by SMS. (Who remembers texting 86444?)

Now the stubby T39 is my burner phone.
The W350i is alarms, egg timing and MP3s of BBC radio clips like Jon Holmes calling Mark Goodier a c**t on air.
The #Fairphone2 was my main phone until August; now it has no 3/4G network but runs #Qobuz into my hifi (headphone jack FTW).

Was ja echt nervt bei #MusicStreaming: Quasi alle offiziellen #Apps der Anbieter sind vollkommen #Tracker-verseucht:

Die beiden "Positiv"-Fälle sind wenig überraschend: #Apple hat die ausufernde Datensammelei nicht ganz so dringend nötig, da das nicht Teil des Kerngeschäfts ist, und #Google braucht seinen Kuchen mit niemandem zu teilen, da sie selbst marktbestimmend im Bereich #Werbung sind.

Und ja, ich weiß, Tracker kann man nicht so einfach zählen: Manche Komponenten mögen gar nicht wirklich aktiv oder drin sein, manche nur als Opt-In oder Out, zu verschiedenen Zwecken. Dennoch eignet sich das als Indikator dafür, wie datenhungrig die meisten Plattformen leider sind. 😕

So, #TheMidnight, a popular (read: genre-defining, seminal, prototypical) #synthwave group, is coming out with a new album, #Syndicate. Alas, all of the promotional material and singles for it, so far, have been either on their website (the LP) or on platforms that only offer streaming and/or DRM downloads, with the exception of #Qobuz and #BeatPort, which offer non-encumbered, DRM-free #FLAC downloads. So, that's where I got the track (Qobuz). It comes with a warning though:

>Certain works may be withdrawn from the service for legal reasons, such as a revocation of rights. The titles purchased will then no longer be available for re-download. Download your purchases quickly.

I originally heard about Qobuz and BeatPort after numerous people kept pestering them for making announcements through the #BandCamp platform while never actually putting anything on BandCamp. It turns out, their latest label doesn't allow them to put stuff on BandCamp. Thankfully, they were at least transparent about this (after much pestering):
