#EclipsePhase 2nd edition is the Deal of the Day on DriveThruRPG, so it's only $5 for the PDF. If you like transhumanist sci-fi RPGs, I highly recommend it.

I love the game for the combined ideas of "regular backups make it almost impossible to really kill someone" and "you can make copies of your mind and then _try_ to reintegrate them later."

From Posthuman Studios of Eclipse Phase fame comes The Snarl RPG. Fantasy setting, looks super weird and entirely devoid of humans. It appears to be set in a huge forest and promises a light but tactical 2d10 system. Open playtest incoming soon, game is targeting a launch at next year's GenCon.

I think I will really enjoy this.

Maybe it’s because I’m trans or just not focussing on the bad stuff but settings like #eclipsephase feel like an improvement over the current world in so many ways. Yeah the slavery and billions of deaths aren’t good but post-scarcity body swapping and immortality? Goddamn

The setting looks like an existential horror sci-fi similar to #EclipsePhase (strong recommendation), but the game puts a very strong focus on communities rebuilding after a war and character convictions.

I love that character building is based on their story, traits and beliefs, not combat skills, HPs and weapon systems.

If I have time, I'll write a proper review.

Transhuman Space is one of the few #GURPS books I kept for a long time (the other being GURPS Cabal). It was a great sci-fi and cyberpunk setting with great inspiration for #Cyberpunk, #Shadowrun, #EclipsePhase, #BluePlanet, and its ilk.

The #BundleOfHolding has a deal up for it now: $18 for the core and $30 for what might be the whole line. That base book is worth the entry price alone.

BLOG RERUN: 10th Anniversary (+- a week) of the last #EclipsePhase #TTRPG session I played with my group before I moved away from Kuala Lumpur. We never got to see how this instance of my player character is connected to the Gamera Security hypercorp character off Venus.

#ArsMagica #ttrpg, famed for it's flexible magic system and troupe-style play, has launched their definitive edition crowd funding on #backerkit. Although the overall system is a bit clunky, the magic rules for casting freeform spells are great, and I try to play the game at conventions, etc, whenever I get a chance.
