Maybe it’s because I’m trans or just not focussing on the bad stuff but settings like #eclipsephase feel like an improvement over the current world in so many ways. Yeah the slavery and billions of deaths aren’t good but post-scarcity body swapping and immortality? Goddamn

The setting looks like an existential horror sci-fi similar to #EclipsePhase (strong recommendation), but the game puts a very strong focus on communities rebuilding after a war and character convictions.

I love that character building is based on their story, traits and beliefs, not combat skills, HPs and weapon systems.

If I have time, I'll write a proper review.

Transhuman Space is one of the few #GURPS books I kept for a long time (the other being GURPS Cabal). It was a great sci-fi and cyberpunk setting with great inspiration for #Cyberpunk, #Shadowrun, #EclipsePhase, #BluePlanet, and its ilk.

The #BundleOfHolding has a deal up for it now: $18 for the core and $30 for what might be the whole line. That base book is worth the entry price alone.

#ArsMagica #ttrpg, famed for it's flexible magic system and troupe-style play, has launched their definitive edition crowd funding on #backerkit. Although the overall system is a bit clunky, the magic rules for casting freeform spells are great, and I try to play the game at conventions, etc, whenever I get a chance.

8) Favorite RPG for its art: Let me first say that I think art is really important to set the tone for a game. For me good art can elevate a mediocre game to greatness and make a good game average. I loved #Agone in its day, #EclipsePhase is gorgeous, #Nobilis 2nd ed. is a piece of art, #CastleFalkenstein was great, #TheOneRing hit the mark, but it has to be #Symbaroum. I loooove the artwork in this game. There is no contest.

I'm just some guy who lives in #southdakota with a dog, a cat, a 6-year old, and my long time (18 years) girlfriend. I watch my kid during the day and work in a warehouse at night. It's a pretty good time... except for the chuds that run this state. I'm also not that into social media.

A few months ago, I floated the idea of running a tabletop #rpg - #eclipsephase first edition - for some folks on the #fediverse. The upcoming holiday season seems as good a time as any to do it. Maybe it'd be over Jami, maybe over Skype, maybe over something else. Whatever seems to work best for people.

I think I could accomodate up to five, maybe six players simultaneously.

The game's #creativecommons licensed, so I can mail copies to folks to make things easier. I was going to use the quickstart rules so you don't have to read an entire 400 page book to get up to speed, just a couple of pages.
