  1. Learn about Paizo's plans for #Pathfinder, #Starfinder, and #ORC in our latest #GenCon2023 interview. This time we're talking with Aaron Shanks, director of marketing for #Paizo. #TTRPG

  3. Our backlog of PDF requests from #Booth446 #GenCon2023 purchases has been cleared, so if you haven't already, please forward your Square receipt to [email protected] and we'll send you download links for games that come with them.

  4. Finally had a chance to sort through what I brought back from #GenCon, so here is my #GenCon2023 haul.

I'm gonna start cleaning up and properly organizing my shelves over the next weeks (months?) so I'll go into more detail on the collection in general, but there were a few stand-out gems from this year.

    - Werewolf: The Apocalypse
    - Legend of the 5 Rings artbook (got real lucky finding the last one)
    - D&D movie popcorn bucket
    - Into the Cess and Citadel
    - 1000 Arrows cloth map/scroll

  5. #gencon #gencon2023
Gencon is the largest tabletop convention in North America and I was there fromk 8/2 to 8/6.

I've been having a tough time this year due to stress and mental health struggles, I was hoping for a relaxing gaming convention, but I didn't exactly get that. Thankfully various recreational substances kept me going.

I played some WWI Aerial Combat Games, demoed some board games, bought some stuff I didn't need, and most importantly of all.. I attended the Puppet shows that my friend has raved about since last year.

He was.. right. It was amazing, so amazing I'm now hardcore into puppetry. It's really hard to describe why exactly, something between passionate people doing something to be envious of.. to the shear warmth and kindness of the supporting community in the puppetry program. Long story short I'm looking up puppetry programs in my area.

  7. We’ve tested negative for COVID after #GenCon #GenCon2023 and don’t have any symptoms. Just wanted to make sure.

Whenever y’all travel, remember to mask up and test/isolate if you can for a bit when you return, especially from big gatherings.

  8. If you picked up one of my stories at Gen Con Writers Symposium - a print book, or Lord's Dome, the stories/poem, or my audio sample on the USB drive, I'd love to hear what you think of it! 🥰 #bookstodon (Just hearing of me? Check out edebell.com!) #GenCon #GenCon2023

  9. And we finally have the Day 5 video of #GenCon. youtu.be/tBwlhyLZgLw

We’re still in Indy and traveling home today, but Nelly isn’t planning on making another video covering that because she doesn’t think enough happens. I think people like the full cycle - y’all should tell her in the comments.

Also, you should comment on her videos with what other videos she should make, whether you want more Gen Con tips or dog videos. Or both.

  10. We're back from Indy. Posting this week's issue later than normal on social because of the drive, but subscribers got it yesterday. Become a subscriber, and never miss an issue. No spam, and it's free. #GenCon #GenCon2023 #GamingNews #Gaming thegamesletter.com/dispatches-

  11. Had a great time at #Gencon2023 talking to people and seeing old friends. Thank you everyone who stopped by the

  12. It was a great day of hanging out with friends and winding down after #GenCon, despite so many flight getting delayed or canceled.

We tried out a new place (Walk Ons) and some of their food was quite good (really liked the gumbo), then we went to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and that was an absolute blast.

Tomorrow we’re gonna see Barbie, have a quick meeting about #GenCon2024 and the finally head home.

  13. Here’s our #GenCon haul for this year. The 13yo had his own budget, which is why there’s a bunch of shirts, tea, and pins. We avoided the vendor hall on Sunday afternoon, which is when past experience tells us we make lots of (bad idea) impulse buys. Did we buy more dice & dice accessories that we 100% do not need? Yes. Dice are our Achilles heel. #GenCon2023 #BoardGames #TabletopGames #RPG

  15. Day 4 is the last #GenCon convention day, but Nelly will have a few more videos about the trip back home. youtu.be/7_o9-d2umWg

  16. I never did actually find time to make it out to the new Block Party & food trucks for #GenCon, though. I don’t think I sat down for a “real” meal from Tuesday night to Sunday night. Gonna have to fix that next year.

And I loved the idea of Critical Hit Soda’s mocktails, but only managed to get one: the Goblin, which was what I had expected Mt Dew Thrashed Apple to be - liquid green Jolly Rancher. #GenCon2023

  17. I used Mastodon to keep track of #GenCon and #GenCon2023 this year and I think it went pretty well. It felt a bit like when I first got the “gen_con” account on Twitter. Some discussion, but not a ton - active, but not more than I could check every so often and keep up with.

Following hashtags is pretty genius. I should probably jump on #GenCon2024 right now.

I just need @ivory to let me set up columns for live updates on specific hashtags and I’ll be golden.

  18. I feel weirdly guilty saying it, but overall, I think #GenCon2023 have been my least stressful #GenCon in quite a long time. Prolly going back to at least 2014/2015.

I feel like we finally have a time with the size and experience to handle our huge size without having to burn hard _all the time_. Still plenty to do and improve all over the place, but I’m very happy with and excited about where the Event Department is at Gen Con - and where it can go.

  19. Day 3 of Nelly’s #GenCon vlog went up this morning: youtu.be/1KfZl-yl-0s

Saturday was a _big_ day at #GenCon2023.

I’ll try to remember to share her video tomorrow earlier in the day.

  20. Thousand Year Old Vampire SOLD OUT? Cue clip of King George III singing "I didn't know that was a thing a person could do." We still have plenty of Raccoon Sky Pirates! We will not run out of Raccon Sky Pirates in #Booth449 at #GenCon2023!
