Privilege: This word calls to mind the #Oxventure #BladesInTheDark campaign. I listened to in preparation for running a #Genesys game set in Doskvol. One of their PCs is Barnaby Fortescue III, a charismatic fellow (playbook: Slide) from a wealthy family whose upbringing makes him completely out of touch with the struggles of the rest of his crew. Differences in the socio-economic background of PCs can make for interesting roleplaying conflicts.

@b4ux1t3 my copy of Blades ‘68 is in the mail, but in the meantime I’ve been browsing a bit through the pdf, and man is it a fun imaging of the #BitD future. One of these days I’m going to have to find people to play one of these with - right now I mostly just collect and read a few different TTRPGs.

Did some more tweaking this afternoon. Now have a _really_ clean trace from inkscape. The SVG is still rough around t eh edges (literally), but here's the PNG!
I intend to render the vector down to normal paths instead of the. . .whatever it is inkscape does to do the tracing. Looking forward to figuring that out. Here's to not having to draw it all by hand!

A few hours of tweaking in everyone's favorite terribly-named open source project, and I have a nice PNG background for my players in #BitD on Owlbear Rodeo.
I've been a Foundry guy for a while now, I _always_ prefer self hosting, but figured I wanetd to try having a "persistent world" BitD campaign with wifey and some friends, and getting foundry set up safely for that is. . .eh, nightmarish.
It feels good to get into the guts of an image processing pipeline again.

🇫🇷🇮🇩 Belle semaine pour l'industrie française !
L'entrée en service des six premiers #Rafale dans la force aérienne indonésienne rappelle, s'il en était besoin, que notre #BITD est au sommet.
@Dassault_OnAir bien sûr, mais aussi @mbdagroup, @Safran, @thalesgroup et tous leurs sous-traitants. C'est tout un écosystème industriel qui performe et qui s'exporte.

i must say, the Friends and Rivals system in Blades in the Dark and inspired systems is so useful for a GM, especially if you then let the players tweak each NPC to make them more personal. it's a great way to create recurring characters other than the various factions.

Ran a Blades in the Dark game in place of the usual GM, today! The crew unknowingly crashed an ambush of the Reconciled against a member of the City Council while trying to take control of a lightning tower.
They decided to help the Reconciled and things almost went south when their target used a special spirit bottle, grafted into their chest, to trap the ghost trying to possess them.
It took harm and a new trauma but they gained both control of the tower and new ghost allies!

Wrapped my first true-blue Blades campaign last night, after about 8 or 9 sessions. Enough time to get to get to Tier 1 and gain some serious territory, but I want to play more 🥺

Au fond, la question est simple :veut-on une cadence politique ou une capacité industrielle ? Parce que pendant qu’on discute, d’autres livrent et dans ce marché, le temps long n’est plus un confort, c’est une vulnérabilité.
Et c’est bien là le point : on ne fait pas une montée en cadence avec un mot d’ordre. On la fait avec des machines, du cash, des bras… et du temps. #BITD

Been loving playing Blades in the Dark as run by someone who *loves* running Blades in the Dark. Extremely different from all my previous experiences, in which the system never sang because we didn't commit to it — Blades is the sort of game where taking a cog out makes the whole machine collapse

@niq i know you already ordered the books but I would nonetheless recommend a different system than DnD. Maybe take a look at Legend in the Mist, Blades in the Dark, CBR+PNK, Bump in the Dark or something like Outgunned. There are so much more and better Systems out there that are perfect for new people without locking them into the Hasbro/WotC World.
