  1. Some folk were shocked he was using the #Ferrari 250 (worth a fair bit) as a "dog car" at the #CarMeet in SW #London but why not?

The chap is a Ferrari dealer and works nearby, so its not too risky a journey, and its pointless just keeping the car as a garage queen as the fluids will dry up if its not driven..

He also even provided ear defenders for the #doggo (an old car like that will be noisy compared to modern vehicles)

  2. The 2 year #jail sentence (usually 9 months to 1 year served inside) for this bad #driving at an unauthorised #CarMeet (which led to two young passengers being injured) might seem lenient but is in line with current sentencing policy - #driver pleaded guilty at Crown #Court (33-50% immediate sentence reduction), and the lass and her friend got into the car willingly.

TBH I think the driving ban, extra retest totalled #Audi #S3 and 11 years of high #insurance costs when he does go back on the road might serve as more of a lasting punishment than porridge, and hopefully is enough of a lesson that he doesn't repeat such behaviour..

  3. I suspected this was from my region here from the Co-op sign, its Peartree Road #Colchester #Essex (there is a #CarMeet and someones behaviour has attracted the constabulary) - unmarked #Police #car was parked in the car park of Hatfields (furniture store)

  4. Negative effects of #CarCulture in the #Midlands (the #Detroit of #Britain in more ways than one) go a lot deeper - a middle aged man (older than me!) is serving a long stretch (7-8 years+) for the fatal #collision at the #CarMeet, but looking at full video on ITV Central (I didn't link it as you need to fiddle with adblockers to watch it), bereaved parents turned up to see the offenders car crushed in an modified Overfinch LandRover - its likely they also fuelled/enabled their son's interest in #cars which led to him turning up at the ill-fated meet

Surely the old bill should have stomped on these meets a lot sooner, but its likely the Roads Policing Unit is simply overwhelmed there as many offenders don't attract much other attention from Police)
