Toward the end of lunch hour today I stopped by the excellent local thrift store long enough to fight the urge to add to my collection of clocks and while there, was pleased with the tuneage on the store’s “muzack” system; one of the 70 or 80 something year old volunteers plugged the White Album in. It kinda rocked, singin’ along with “Sexy Sadie” as thumbed through the CDs and DVDs.

Under The Radar – Versus
Less than 1,000 monthly listeners. More than 1,000 reasons to listen.
How did you come up with the bands name?
It came from being ‘Vs the system’ but we figured short & sweet would work.
Where are you from?
Leeds,UK.
What genre would you class your music as?
Post Hardcore.
For Fans Of?
Dayseeker, System of a Down, Enter Shikari.
Where can people connect with you?
Check out their website! https://theofficialversus.com/
What is your latest release?
https://open.spotify.com/track/3qskAfN39gqYIE0mVpIDze?si=4a2ba2cd3c37482d
This track explores the aftermath of a deeply toxic relationship, where prolonged gaslighting and manipulation suddenly become clear. That moment of clarity forces acceptance of the damage done, reshaping the entire mindset and driving the journey to confront the past, reclaim control, and move toward a more honest, self-defined future.
What are the songs you would recommend to new listeners?
https://open.spotify.com/track/5Svvl3XjtDKrSoP8KJCheP?si=ad3296915d154f96
A straight forward, no messing around, high energy classic with all the beefy riffs your ears could need
https://open.spotify.com/track/1WEdRBWxPaEIxGNHD5OUyg?si=687e460034494cbe
A real juxtaposition of a song that shows the breadth of the band and how eclectic we can be. It seamlessly blends multiple genres and leaves you lingering for more.
What is the song you’re most proud of as a band?
https://open.spotify.com/track/3eYqWTPV0o0Mi7YGaFwfQ5?si=f9fac40eaa884b81
This song came together really quickly, and at a particularly bad time. The band were starting to go through a busy period of gigs, in the throws of recording and production on the first album and still writing the last couple of tracks, so we were stretched thin. And this song just started coming to fruition literally a couple of hours before an important gig… and when creativity strike you’ve got to follow it. So it ended up feeling quite rushed when the bulk of it was being written and actually turned out to be one of our most complete and popular songs!
When can we expect some new music?
We are currently writing our second album for release in early 2027, with two standalone singles coming before the end of the year.
Who would be your dream collaboration?
Rou Reynolds and Enter Shikari would be high on the list. The energy and creativity that lives in the mans brain is nothing short of phenomenal.
Rory Rodriguez and Dayseeker would be another – they’re nailing the dark ‘baddiecore’ vibe that seem to be the rage at the minute, and Rory is at the pinnacle of what a voice can do.
Finally; Bring Me The Horizon – who wouldn’t want to a collab with that band right now. Those guys have single handedly re-written the rule book on what a live show can look like in the metal scene. All rights to the songs used on this post are retained by the band in question. This site claims no rights over them. All images were provided by the band.

Good morning, Fedi friends!
In the decade+ that I've been listening to The Notwist, the German indie rockers have never let me down with new music. This year's new record, News from Planet Zombie, is no exception to that rule. I love this album ❤️

Sarcator – The Ones We Follow Review By Creeping IvyLast year, Sarcator flew under the radar with a pretty rad platter. On the heels of their mixed sophomore outing, 2025’s Swarming Angels & Flies served up delectable blackened thrash with necrotic notes and refreshing traditional/surf-rock side dishes. A year later, I’m surprised to see them already plating The Ones We Follow. Also surprising was word that this Swedish trio has all but abandoned thrash on album four, adopting a flavor profile they don with a curious descriptor: ‘death’s rock.’ Skepticism-inducing as any major sonic shift should be, the rock elements of Swarming Angels & Flies did elevate my excitement over Sarcator’s riffy brand of thrash with the crispy skin. In turning this element into the main course, I’m left wondering if these young Swedes returned to the kitchen prematurely.
Despite the generic shift, Sarcator still retain the unhinged aggression characterizing their blackened thrash menu. Indeed, guitarist/vocalist Mateo Tervonen belts an acerbic ‘owww!’ on opener “The Ones We Follow,” with drummer Jesper Rosén speeding between kit pieces underneath. It’s the guitar work, however, that distinguishes old from new Sarcator. Rather than relying on syncopated palm mutes and serpentine riffs, Tervonen and Leo Buchalle favor twangy licks and careening power chords. The solos also affirm this new, ‘classic’ approach, adding bluesy soul into the mix. Almost rockabilly in nature, it’s as if Hellripper collided with Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet. As the record progresses, Sarcator introduce a host of country western elements—slide guitar, harmonica, the occasional snake rattle—with big Wayfarer1 energy (“Volatile Insight,” “Ain’t Fit to Live”). These country western-isms might imply a seismic shift, but it’s not as if Sarcator sound like a completely different band. The sandwich is now (western-tinged) rock, but its wrapper is still youthful, abrasive, and—yes—blackened.
Sarcator build this batch of tunes atop time-tested chord progressions, with Tervonen’s vocals tasked with cutting through the listener’s palette. For the most part, he delivers. The choruses on “In Search of Oblivion” and “Volatile Insight” hit the sweet spot between attitude and stickiness through deliberate spacing and cadence. Tervonen’s tongue trills are tantalizing, becoming a bit of a signature throughout. Not every song, however, strikes a salutary balance. “The Underground Streets” could pay off its guitar earworm with a stronger vocal hook, while “Bleeding Ages” is in need of memorability. Penultimate country rocker “Wasteland Strider” tosses a vocal curveball, containing clean singing before it gets death n’ rolling. It’s a jarring change that, while well executed, feels a little like variety for variety’s sake this late in the album. Production-wise, Tervonen’s voice is a bit more prominent in the mix than I’d like, at the expense of melodic support from the bass.2 But overall, The Ones We Follow sounds open and punchy, with Tervonen’s voice commanding deserved attention.
While not their longest meal, The Ones We Follow pits a girthy album length against a mostly immediate vibe. Shorter songs like “The Ones We Follow” and “You Gotta Possess Me” kill it, kicking in the door with controlled chaos. The clash between immediacy and girth, however, reveals itself mostly in the album’s epics. Seven-minute centerpiece “Rotting Chapels” implies scope with its key-changing buildup, but it ends up sounding like a longer version of the abrasive surf rock heard earlier. Meanwhile, closer “Wanderlust” epitomizes its title, wandering from mid-paced cowboy bumps to “Hot for Teacher”-style fretboard gymnastics and harmonica-sweetened blues dirt. It’s highly entertaining stuff, skirting the line between jamming and riff salad-ing. The album’s 50 minutes may look long on paper, but there’s enough head-turning developments to keep things interesting. The Dire Straits-y ending to “Rotting Chapels” comes to mind, as does the brush-fueled gallop in “Bleeding Ages.”
Leaving me a little hungry at first, The Ones We Follow ultimately won me over with its blackening of a more rustic protein. I applaud Sarcator for daring to change, and there’s lots of tasty stuff on here, with nothing off-putting. Still, The Ones We Follow could elevate its addictive attitude and classic songwriting with more vocal hooks and judicious editing. What crystal clear, however, is that the members of Sarcator are having a hell of a lot of fun here, rocking out and experimenting in equal measure. I’ll continue following these Swedes in the future, as they show signs of following The Ones We Follow with something seriously sumptuous.

I need a bit of motivation today so I'm starting up with a banger that makes me want to pump the volume all the way up to 11. The OP for 1989 theatrical movie "City Hunter: .357 Magnum" (シティーハンター 愛と宿命のマグナム), Weekend Soldier (週末のソルジャー) by Mika Kaneko (金子 美香).
This is the full-length track ripped from the City Hunter: A Magnum of Love's Destination - Music from the Original Motion Picture album (シティーハンター劇場版 ~愛と宿命のマグナム~ オリジナル・サウンドトラック). The album cover contains a notorious misspelling that's extremely characteristic of that period's Engrish.

Není to snaha měnit pravidla žánru. Síla desky spočívá v tom, že U.D.O. vědí, co jim jde nejlépe. Pevné riffy, zapamatovatelné refrény, metalová přímočarost a zpěv, který si nespleteš s nikým jiným…
Album 💿 “Holy” se dočkalo příznivého hodnocení v metalových médiích. Časopis Rock Hard mu udělil 8️⃣ z 🔟 bodů a Collector’s Guide to Heavy Metal hodnotil album známkou 9️⃣ z 🔟…
A ještě jedna pecka nakonec 🔥

I find myself a little on the blues side and the Vaughan Brothers album is soothing my soul tonight. Easing into the morrow with love for family, yours & mine, peace.

"Back Here" is a song by English #popRock band #BBMak. It was written by the three members of the group ( #ChristianBurns, Mark Barry, and #StephenMcNally) along with songwriter #PhilThornalley. It was originally released in August 1999 as the lead single from their debut studio album, #SoonerOrLater (2000), but did not experience commercial success until its American release the following year, when it became a top-20 hit in the United States.

New #review today: "Released on October 21, 2026, what would have been the 50th birthday of longtime keyboardist and vocalist Stig Arve Kvam-Jørgensen, Sorgens Kapittel is both a tribute and a farewell. The title translates roughly as “The Chapter of Grief,” but despite its somber origins, this is not a gloomy album. Instead, it celebrates the sound that made #ArabsInAspic such a distinctive force in Norwegian #ProgressiveRock." #ExposeOnline #KarismaRecords http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/arabs-in-aspic-sorgens-kapittel-6.html

Last night's concert was Fantastic! It's always a little weird seeing bands perform in their home country with all of the between-song banter not in a language I understand. Last night was three Swedish bands in Stockholm.
Soilwork was fine - I've never listened to them before and I'll probably never listen to them again, but the show was competent.
Orbit Culture are always fun - their music isn't super well aligned with my tastes but they never disappoint on stage... and since I discovered them in 2023 they've remained one of my top 10 listens, so...
Amon Amarth was simply fantastic. This was the biggest stage I've seen them on to date, and their setlist was epic. They played four new songs from the just-released new album as part of a massive set.
Life is good.

I want to hear about your favourite song, the new band you discovered, the new documentary that taught you something, and possibly even see your new highly advanced memes. I find out new stuff and meet cool new people on Fedi everyday. 😻
If you post a bare link to, say, a YouTube video with no thumbnail, no title, and no alt text I will not learn about your new favourite thing 😿 and my life will not be enriched and I can't go buy the album 🙇🏻♀️ ... because I do not activate bare links ( and do not think anyone should). So please, if you are plugging or sharing something you like, write a few words, copy the title as text into your message and yes: Alt Text and Content Warnings where appropriate ... TIA, HTH, usw.

AMN Reviews: Murder Corporation – Macabre Visions (2026; Eighth Tower Records)
Moreno Daldosso debuted Murder Corporation in 1992 and released early tapes in 1993 featuring noise, field recordings, and shortwave radio signals combined with distorted vocals. Macabre Visions is a slower and more intentionally haunting release, better thought of as death ambient rather than the post-industrial noise of Daldosso’s 1990s works.
In a sense, the title says it all. The album begins, continues, and ends with a variety of synth textures, drones, manipulated sounds, and (possibly) field recordings. Each track can be taken as a standalone statement, whether focused on suffocating drones accompanied by heartbeats or shimmering soundscapes with metallic scraping. But put together, these pieces tell a story, and it is a harrowing one.
As an example, Macabre serves as a de facto title track, and begins with murky pulsing sounds. Wordless and disturbing vocalizations add to these strangely cosmic tones. Then a sound wall arises unexpectedly, with synths combined with torture noises, static, and effects. Moans Underground is straight up horror, with twisted screams and chromatic sweeps.
Macabre Visions is a disquieting, yet cinematic and strangely beautiful offering. It is one of a pair of new releases from Murder Corporation, the other being a reissue of 1995’s Disturbance. Both will be available on October 28, 2026 from Eighth Tower Records.

45 years ago today, October 24, 1981, Juice Newton debuted at #69 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart with “The Sweetest Thing (I've Ever Known)”. It went on to peak at #1 and spent a total of 19 weeks on the chart.
My mom bought the "Juice" album for the song "Angel of the Morning", its first single hot on the radio at that time. More info please check ALT.

“The way Tō Yō blends their Asian sounds with their American psychedelic influences helps to
create an engaging and delightful musical journey”. – The Third Eye
Born out of the Far Eastern underground, Tō Yō is a next-generation psychedelic rock trio from Tokyo, Japan.
Their organic sound and hypnotic rhythms are rooted in the chaotic, genre-defying Tokyo underground,
driven by a constant desire for experimentation on stage.
dass einige ihrer größten Einflüsse für komplexe, bahnbrechende Visionen bekannt sind;
Far East Family Band, J. A. Seazer und Jimi Hendrix tauchen alle in der Liste der wichtigsten Einflüsse der Band auf.
