  1. So there I was, watching “The Rainmaker” on Turner Classic Movies when at one point Bill Starbuck (Burt Lancaster) says to Izzy (Katherine Hepburn) “Tell me what you see” triggering a favorite by The Beatles.

Big and black the clouds may be, time will pass away
If you put your trust in me, I'll make bright your day
Look into these eyes now, tell me what you see
Don't you realize now, what you see is me

  2. When you’re 61 and find yourself singing John’s part of the vocals and harmony on deck like you did when you were in high school “back in the day.”

    She asked me maybe
    I would share her sorrow
For all the men that tried to treat her wrong
    Though just a baby
    A waiting her tomorrow
It's Rock Me baby, Rock Me baby
    All night long

Following the shadows of the skies
Or are they only figments of my eyes?

Things that make me feel that I'm mad

In the days of my youth
I was told what it means to be a man
And now I've reached that age
I've tried to do all those things the best I can
    No matter how I try
I find my way into the same old jam

  18. My introduction to Jimi Hendrix when I was about eight years old and my mom got an album from the local Woolworth’s for my younger brother and me that was one of those Ronco-type compilations from different artists. This was 1972 and I didn’t realize it at the time but Jimi had already been dead two years along with one of the other artists, Janis Joplin. Little did mom know she’d created a classic rock freak. 😎

How does it feel to be
    One of the beautiful people?
    Tuned to a natural E
    Happy to be that way
Now that you've found another key
What are you going to play?

Last night is a night I will remember you by
When I think of things we did it makes me want to cry
We said our goodbye, ah, The Night Before
Love was in your eyes, ah, The Night Before
Now today I find you have changed your mind
Treat me like you did The Night Before

    A lifetime is so short
A new one can't be bought
But what you've got means such a lot to me
    Make love all day long
    Make love singing songs

  25. I chuckled here on deck as I heard broadcasters let everyone know how the FOTUS was booed at the U.S. Open. 😄 In the meantime, I’ve surprised myself as I can sing Paul’s high part of the harmony on this one as well as I could when I was a teenager.

    Had it been another day
I might have looked the other way
And I'd have never been aware
But as it is, I'll dream of her tonight
    Falling, yes I'm falling
And she keeps calling me back again
