I have to start with my usual complaint: why are there three races in the USA? I know the answer is money, but it still annoys me that a country with little support for F1 gets 3 races while others with better circuits and bigger fan bases have to share calendar spots or don't get one at all. It also bugs me that this venue is Circuit of the Americas - there are older and better circuits in the Americas, but never let it be said that the USA lacks…

"Perhaps no technological innovation has defined our decade more than Artificial Intelligence in the form of large language models, for better or for worse. The fate of the global economy rests upon investment in AI and its underlying systems, and AI use has become ubiquitous online, in schools and in workplaces. Over three years ago, in early 2023 to be precise, I wrote an essay for Cosmonaut analyzing this nascent technology in its economic and political implications. Much has changed since then; AI models have become more sophisticated, and left-wing opposition to AI and its infrastructure has become more virulent as a cultural and political force. In light of these developments, I wanted to revisit some of my claims and predictions and offer an interjection into these contemporary debates as a contribution to Marxism as a historical science. Left-wing skepticism of AI, its capabilities and possibilities, has warped many otherwise hardnosed perspectives of our conjuncture. With the highly credible accusations of antisemitism by former NDP leadership, I'm not at all sad to see David Eby leave office.

Wealth is very difficult and even humiliating to measure. It would be better to tax specific assets. It should be obvious why a one-time tax is irresponsible.
Public grocery stores are a really stupid idea because it’s expensive and not targeted. Just send the money to the people who need it and they can use it to shop where they want.
My sentiment toward Emily Lowan isn’t negative cause shes young (only 4 years older than me!) and its the Green party. Also I was impressed with her debate performance. Also her outfits are pretty cool.
But it’s weird that there are all these party leaders who either don’t care that their ideas are bad or don’t care enough to find out that they are bad. Cause factually they are bad (alternatives exist that accomplish the same goals better) and it reduces the quality of debate to have them proposed.
