A coda to the above which does not apply to today, hence its relegation: given the limitations of the light this late in the year why do the administrators continue to insist that no matter what play in a test match in England cannot begin before 11AM?!

The evening session will start at 4:55PM and in broad theory could run until 7:00PM, but even if the rain does not return before then the light will certainly have closed in to a point at which the umpires are unhappy.
