If you want to share someone else's post in Mastodon but add a content warning (CW) to it, here's how:
1. Click boost 🔁 on the post but select the option to quote it instead of boosting
2. Click the ❗ content warning option and write a reason for the CWThe content warning will cover both your own post and the quoted post.

I had a couple of people complain they saw a "post pending" message on a quote-post I made yesterday.
My solution: Click on the time stamp of the post (bottom right corner), which opens a new window, showing the pending post.
Not sure of the UI of every Mastodon app for the time stamp, but I suspect that should work well for most users.

PSA: If you edit a poll in a post here on Mastodon, it re-sets to zero, and you lose all responses/data to date.
(In the past week or so, especially, I've seen a few peeps find this out the hard way, and it's quite shite..)

I accidentally blocked the mastodon.social server (domain).
While I attempt to get it back -- which could take a while -- please be aware that this was NOT intentional.
I wuz trying to block a bot and unintentionally blocked the entire domain.
PS: Serious question, have I stumbled upon a new attack vector?

@feditips I so wish it wasn't this way. It seems such a waste of everyone's valuable time. And I don't even bother searching Mastodon anymore, I know better to waste my time that way as well.

I don't know if this is how things work for other Fediverse apps, but on Mastodon, if you reply to someone's post and remove their tag in your reply they won't be notified about the reply so there's a good chance they won't see it.
Therefore, if you're trying to have a conversation with somebody, leave the tag in.
If you're dunking on them and trying to hide your reply so others will see it and they won't, that's shitty; don't do that.

@LukaszD Osobom, które nie korzystają z list polecam gorąco wypróbowanie klientów, które pozwalają na przypięcie list na bocznym panelu (Tuba) czy w kartach obok głównej osi (Pachli, Phanpy).
Sam zacząłem doceniać listy, gdy zrozumiałem, że mogę jednym klikiem/przesunięciem przełączyć oś czasu na tematyczną, a wiadomości kont piszących na jakiś temat nie giną mi w głównym feedzie.

Al #fediverso se le llama así por su estructura, "#Fedi" por ser descentralizado (#descentralizacion) con la idea de formar parte de una misma red (una #federacion, #abierta porque de ahi viene #federar, que se puede hacer o no, eliges con quien hacerlo) y "#Diverso" porque la red se conforma de diferentes redes, cada red funciona mediante servidores con software (implementaciones de software / mismas #plataformas o #diferentes, etc.#diversidad) que se puede conectar con otros servidores con software que usan (hablan) el mismo protocolo, hay servidores que tienen implementaciones de software que hablan diferentes #protocolos, es decir, forman parte de diferentes redes (la red se puede definir por dos o más tipos, principalmente es por su protocolo o por la implementación de software que usa los servidores, un ejemplo de un tipo es la red de #activitypub o la red de #ostatus y un ejemplo de otro tipo es la red de #mastodon o la red de #friendica).
Así que al pertenecer a la #red del #fediverse puedes escoger a que #redes del #fediverso pertenecer, por medio del #protocolo y el #software que usarás (o elijas usar) según también en el #servidor (#instancia , #nodo) en el que escojas registrar una #cuenta (administrado por alguien, #publico o tuyo propio). También tienes la posibilidad de preferir entre las #opciones que hay, como ver el espacio donde interactuarás, por medio de que #plataforma decidas usar, también por la #interfaz (#interfaces) que te guste más y la #app (#apps y por el sistema operativo #web #apk #pwa #linux #gnulinux #ios #windows) que te venga mejor. Mucha #libertad de uso, por eso al Fediverso se le suele llamar la red de redes, ya que es una analogía a #internet pero para la comunicación social.

Mastodon servers can also be thought of as towns, with each server representing a town. Which town (server) you dwell in is entirely up to you.
However, whichever town you choose, you can still talk to people in other cities through the internet.
And if you decide you don't like the town you're in, you can relocate.
Also don’t forget, it's relatively painless to move to a new server. Far less difficult than relocating to a new town.
