  1. @mszll did some vector georeferencing with the Vector Bender plugin plugins.qgis.org/plugins/Vecto for fun to see where that would lead us

With enough ground control points, this could work to some degree. It won't be perfect but should improve speed estimates

  2. Interpolated Line styles are really growing on me. Very helpful to visualize results

I've been testing the integration in the Model Designer, in combination with other toolbox algorithms

  3. New year, new start: I'm rebooting the Processing Trajectools plugin development. Trajectools v2 builds on and exposes its trajectory analysis algorithms in the Toolbox. More:

  4. And so the quest continues: Merging tools that logically belong together and applying default styles to better show the computed speed and direction values

Also switched to the @movingpandas logo as a plugin icon

“Mesh data represents an unstructured grid that can include temporal and other components. It consists of vertices, edges, and faces that form a spatial structure in 2D or 3D space. Each vertex can store multiple datasets, which can also have a temporal dimension, making mesh data highly versatile for various applications such as meteorology, hydrodynamics, and environmental modeling…
This course is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively work with mesh data within the QGIS environment…"

  6. Earlier this year, I tested the plugins with limited success: fosstodon.org/@underdarkGIS/11

After relaunching , I've finally gotten around to integrating the first GTFS algorithms into it.

Currently testing with GTFS datasets from mobilitydata.gv.at/daten/soll-

Not sure why there is a gap in the network at Lorüns 🤔

  7. More work on today: TemporalSplitter and ObservationGapSplitter are integrated now. SpeedSplitter and StopSplitter are still on the todo list

I wonder if it's better to have all splitters in one processing algorithm or if I should implement four independent algorithms instead 🤔

    Quite happy with v2 ...

Got rid of all the window decorations, tried to better align the elements, and couldn't resist to add some more logos (, , and ) that hopefully will catch people's eyes and make them curious

  17. Probably the first time I've had the time/data to do Canopy height and it mean something to the job. Heights are either 5 feet, 25 feet, or 100 Feet which correspond to the landowners memory of when things were planted (or avoided like the swampy area in bright green).

  18. Finally ! I had a chance to really play with QGIS 3D, COPC point clouds and profiles.

  20. A wild map made in #QGIS appeared from an envelope today. I'm happy to see #FOSS used in research in the private sector as well.

As a #geographer I have to judge the map. It is the law.

The map is surprisingly good for a BW map. I like the slight off-white colour of the water bodies. The textual elements are clearly legible. BUT. The scale bar and north arrow are way too large, and numbers would've sufficed to indicate the various areas. Now some texts make it hard to identify locations.
