  1. If you are at on Thursday and fancy some , come and join our final @emeraldseu event.

I'll be talking about for and a similarly awesome @carto collaboration

  2. Great discussions at #SDSL2025 about integrating #SpatialDataScience libraries in desktop and cloud environments, featuring @movingpandas , @qgis #Trajectools and the @carto Trajectory Analytics extension from the @emeraldseu project

  6. Finally finished my presentation for on Monday

May still have to cut here and there to stay within the time limit πŸ˜…

  7. Analyzing Realtime Data for Β Insights

In today’s post, we are going to dive deep into how to analyze public transport data, using both schedule and real time information

  8. 2.4 release

In this new release, you will find new algorithms, default output styles, and other usability improvements, in particular for working with public transport schedules in format

  9. ✨ We're proud to announce for version 2.2 release today ✨

This release makes sure that Trajectools can be more easily installed since is pip-installable on most systems and the and dependencies are now optional

  10. Struggling to resist the urge to put more stuff on my demo poster for @mdm

    What do you think?
    1. Put more! ✨
    2. Enough! πŸ‘Œ
    3. Too crowded already πŸ˜–

  11. New Trajectools 2.1 and MovingPandas 0.18Β releases

Today marks the 2.1 release of for . This release adds multiple new algorithms and improvements. Since some improvements involve upstream functionality, I recommend to also update MovingPandas while you're at it.

  12. GTFS algorithms about to land inΒ Trajectools

continues growing. Lately, we have started expanding towards analyses. The algorithms available through the current Trajectools development version are courtesy of the library

  13. I wonder if I could manage to get a demo ready for on Friday πŸ€”

Or should i play it safe and sign up for next month?

  14. Earlier this year, I tested the plugins with limited success: fosstodon.org/@underdarkGIS/11

After relaunching , I've finally gotten around to integrating the first GTFS algorithms into it.

Currently testing with GTFS datasets from mobilitydata.gv.at/daten/soll-

Not sure why there is a gap in the network at LorΓΌns πŸ€”

  15. Yay or nay? What do you think about these squiggly lines as a solution for visualizing overlapping lines?

This is just a small sample dataset from , visualized using and

  16. Trajectools 2.0 releasedΒ πŸŽ‰

It's my pleasure to share with you that 2.0 just landed in the official Plugin Repository. This is the first version without the "experimental" flag. If you look at the plugin release history, you will see that the previous release was from 2020. That's quite a while ago, and a lot has happened since…

  17. The toolbox continues to grow.

New in: stop detection and trajectory styling

I’m continuously testing the algorithms integrated so far to see if they work as GIS users would expect and can to ensure that they can be integrated in Processing model seamlessly.

  18. Today, we've had our first successful mini workshop with colleagues from the EMERALDS project, working on

If everything goes to plan, Trajectools will be at
    @mdm

There are still a few days left to submit your own work and join us: mdm2024.github.io/calls.html

  19. Also added some more statistics to the default output: start and end time, duration, length, and average speed, ready for further analysis directly from the toolbox or in the model designer

  20. development version now features out-of-the-box Interpolated Line styling for trajectories 🌈

Additionally, we can now clip a trajectory layer by a polygon layer (as well as to an extent)

  21. Interpolated Line styles are really growing on me. Very helpful to visualize results

I've been testing the integration in the Model Designer, in combination with other toolbox algorithms

  22. More work on today: TemporalSplitter and ObservationGapSplitter are integrated now. SpeedSplitter and StopSplitter are still on the todo list

I wonder if it's better to have all splitters in one processing algorithm or if I should implement four independent algorithms instead πŸ€”

  23. And so the quest continues: Merging tools that logically belong together and applying default styles to better show the computed speed and direction values

Also switched to the @movingpandas logo as a plugin icon
