#QGIS users? Ensure you have #OpenStreetMap tile resolution set correctly to "Standard" resolution for improved service.

Sorry to #QGIS users having trouble loading #OpenStreetMap tiles from tile.openstreetmap.org. We've had to heavily rate-limit QGIS after bulk tile usage risked disrupting service for other users. We're working with the QGIS team to distinguish bulk requests from normal interactive use.

Ran into a problem downloading the new version of QGIS in Edge today. There is a complicated "SmartScreen" system intended to make it difficult to download new software like this. Thanks to a UI bug the dropdown menu is hidden, so it is not possible to work around it. Eventually I gave up and used Firefox instead. #QGIS #MicrosoftEdge

Can any satellite imagery nerds help me out here?

Basically, I have a custom index made in QGIS from various sentinel 2 bands to try map fuel availability for grass fires. On this index, high values are "better" fuel ig is how you would phrase.

What I want to do is randomly elect "hot points" which would be the start point of a grass fire, I then have a spread simulation function to run based on distances of pixels from the hot spot as well as various other things. What would the best way of finding how far from the nearest hotspot each pixel is? Probably going to use python and numpy.

Over the last months I tried to move from gui to cli. Started with shift from #kde plasma to #niri. On Ubuntu 24LTS this was quite problem, first I used #pacstall, but that was better, I changed to #nix package manager, it simply has a the packages, no need to cargo and apt/nala as much. Also I can chair stuff simpler between systems. Nix also enabled me to remove everything but one #distrobox container. As #arch already has #qgis 4
