🚀 The new edition of the book #Geomorphometry is almost available. It’s not open access, but I’m glad to see a strong shift toward #OpenSource tools like #QGIS, #PCRaster, #GRASS, #Whitebox and Python/R packages. Happy I could contribute to this through my chapter on QGIS and PCRaster!

⚠️ Why standard GIS routing (D8, Sink Fill) fails in complex mining regions: 300m open pits become fake "lakes", and underground river tunnels are completely ignored.
To map surface drainage across central Kryvyi Rih, I built a custom DEM hydro-conditioning pipeline:
