Podczas gdy świat ekscytuje się tym, że sztuczna inteligencja potrafi napisać wiersz, giganci przemysłowi używają jej do czegoś znacznie bardziej przyziemnego (i dochodowego).

PepsiCo wdraża AI tam, gdzie nie ma miejsca na „halucynacje” i kreatywność – na liniach produkcyjnych. Cel? Zagrać w SimCity na żywo, zanim w ruch pójdą prawdziwe maszyny.

Gra w fabrykę na poziomie „God Mode”

Większość firm wdraża AI w biurach, żeby pisało maile. PepsiCo uznało, że to strata czasu. Prawdziwe pieniądze uciekają gdzie indziej – w przestojach fabryk i źle zaprojektowanych liniach produkcyjnych. Dlatego firma postawiła na „Digital Twins” (Cyfrowe Bliźniaki). To wirtualne kopie całych zakładów przemysłowych. Zanim inżynierowie przesuną w realnym świecie maszynę ważącą 5 ton, robią to w symulacji.

AI testuje tam tysiące scenariuszy:

• „Co się stanie, jeśli przyspieszymy taśmociąg o 10%?”
• „Gdzie zrobi się zator, jeśli zmienimy kształt butelki?”
• „Jak zmiana układu hali wpłynie na bezpieczeństwo wózków widłowych?”

W świecie fizycznym takie testy trwałyby miesiącami i kosztowały fortunę. W świecie cyfrowym AI robi to w mgnieniu oka, nie marnując ani kropli napoju i czasu produkcyjnego fabryki.

AI inżynierskie, nie biurowe

To ważna zmiana paradygmatu. Raport AI News zwraca uwagę, że PepsiCo nie traktuje AI jako narzędzia do „zwiększania produktywności” (co jest trudne do zmierzenia), ale jako narzędzie inżynierii operacyjnej. Tu liczy się „cycle time” – czas potrzebny na wdrożenie zmiany. Dzięki cyfrowym bliźniakom, zamiast zgadywać i poprawiać błędy na żywym organizmie fabryki, firma wdraża gotowe, sprawdzone przez algorytmy rozwiązania.

Mniej hype’u, więcej betonu

To trend, który będziemy obserwować coraz częściej. Firmy zaczynają rozumieć, że generatywna AI (ta od gadania) to tylko wierzchołek góry lodowej. Prawdziwa rewolucja dzieje się w logistyce, produkcji i łańcuchach dostaw – tam, gdzie AI działa jako niewidzialna infrastruktura. Nie jest to medialne. Taki algorytm nie napisze zabawnego tweeta i nie wygeneruje obrazka papieża w kurtce Balenciagi. Ale to właśnie ten „nudny” algorytm sprawia, że twoje chipsy trafiają do sklepu szybciej i taniej.

Dla nas, konsumentów, wniosek jest jeden: następnym razem, gdy otworzysz puszkę Pepsi, pomyśl, że jej drogę do twojej ręki zaplanował cyfrowy mózg, który rozegrał ten scenariusz tysiąc razy, zanim w ogóle wciśnięto przycisk „Start”.
