Things have changed a lot since last update. Not much on #Duniter v2 software and squid indexer, but mainly on #Cesium v2, #Ǧecko and the new app #Ğ1companion. These are now ready for production (with much work remaining to do of course). And will be available on march 8 when Ǧ1 network is migrated from v1 to v2!

There was some kind of major Cesuim 137 radiation contamination event, indeed, in Indonesia, not covered anywhere in the mainstream media EXCEPT as recalls on Kroger and other shrimp in the US. Looks like a major, major incident (with CBRN experts in Indonesia, lead-lined trucks, involvement of the IAEA, people in hazmat suits, hush-hush lack of answers to local residents...).

"Hanford workers have started to pump contaminated water from the final basin of the nuclear reservation’s nine reactors along the Columbia River.
"'This effort will eliminate the risk of a leak of contaminated water to the groundwater about a quarter-mile from the Columbia River,' said Andy Wiborg, the Department of Energy acting deputy assistant manager for river and plateau cleanup."

"The K West and K East Reactor basins were the last to be used, after storing irradiated fuel from N Reactor that was not processed following the end of the Cold War. Before the fuel was removed in 2004, it #corroded underwater, contributing to a highly #RadioactiveSludge.
"In 2019 the last of the sludge was removed, leaving draining the water the next major task to reduce risk from the basins.
"The nearby K East Reactor basin was emptied first.
"Then in June, the first tanker truck with basin water pulled away from the K West Reactor.
About 60 tanker trucks have been filled with filtered water to remove radioactive contamination from the K West Reactor basin as it is being drained. The work will protect the nearby Columbia River.

This incident in WA isn't a first for Australia, BTW.In 2014 there was an incident in Chinchilla QLD involving a CS-137 source about 3x larger than the WA one. It was being used for borehole logging - so I'm assuming it was related to our friends in the fracking industry.
The source fell out of its shielding and was left on a platform where it was later discovered by workers, two of whom handled it. Four people were exposed and one got nasty radiation burns to the leg.
