Climbing out of the trough now. Realized I must be feeling better when I started thinking of ways to prank my wife and play dead. (I didn't, though!)
You'd think once would be enough to learn me, but evidently not.
All #mushroom #foragers: 99% certain of your identification is still too low when getting it wrong means poisoning. 😅

@hobu @rjhale1971 @GeoDon Aside from the "getting old" and "family time" arguments which I totally share, there also is the environmental impact that should definitely be taken into account.
Having hundreds of people flying to conferences to attend the equivalent of a few hours of talks is not durable. We ( and #OSGeo namely ) should favor local events more, as well as hybrid events. At @oslandia for example, we try to find less carbonated ways of communicating.

@rnanclares @rjhale1971 Just copying a profile breaks some of settings (typically resources paths like QPT and SVG folders for example), does not embed desktop/start menu shortcuts and does not fit some needs for deployment in an IT sense (industrial scale, cross-platform, reproducible, centralized, based on domain user groups etc.).
QGIS Deployment CLI is made for those use-cases. More on https://guts.github.io/qgis-deployment-cli/index.html#what-it-is-and-the-underlying-philosophy
Disclaimer: I'm the main developer behind this :)

Was suddenly reminded https://felt.com existed and they are apparently all in on AI. Went to look for pricing and it's all "talk to sales". Smells like the early days of Carto and Mapbox when I felt like you had no clue what anything costed from week to week.

From a past life years ago - I was married on May 18th. I was setting up the QGIS US meeting and used May 18th on all the Announcements. Amazingly enough I haven't thought about that date in years. The correct date for the QGIS-US meeting is May 19th.

My last two volunteer jobs are now dead - which means NO MORE VOLUNTEER JOBS. No more crazy questions from random people on "Hey can you help?".

The Trail Map – Part 1
A few posts ago I babbled about cartography. I've never had the patience for Cartography mainly because two things usually happen...well three things: the map can't be bigger than 8x11 the map must have everything on it Make the map however you want except we will change it at the last second. A couple of years ago I did a map for a local park.
