In May, #UNMaps Community Ambassador Pawan Muddu joined online for a mapathon hosted by Tomtom. They completed mapping flood-affected and drought-prone areas in India.
🎤 Swecha presentation
In June, Pawan was invited to share about #UNMappers & #openstreetmap by Swecha, a #foss community in India. Students learned about OSM and how it can potentially be used for their projects.

Every #FOSS4G gives me bad ideas and a bunch of TODOs. For last week, it was a tool to convert AIS in CSV format into OGC's Moving Features JSON, which I had to rewrite in Rust so it doesn't crash when out of memory when processing the AIS datasets, which can be multi-gigabyte.

This means that, for data which involves a M-coordinate (e.g. time), the GL code can show either a span or just the top bit of the span or what's not on the span. Combine several and you can symbolize the inside of the span and the edge of the span differently.
And just in time for the #FOSS4GE.

confused about #postgis ST_NPoints with polygons, because a triangle apparently has 4 points.
SELECT ST_NPoints(ST_GeomFromText('POLYGON ((0 0, 0 1, 1 0, 0 0 ))'));
From a technical point it makes sense, but it is also quite unintuitive, because normal people on the street would definitely say a triangle has 3 points ...

Just open-sourced QGIS Style Manager v0.3 — export & import layer styles (QML) with project-based organization.
v1 was a local QGIS 3.x tool. Migrating to QGIS 4.0 / Qt6 broke a few things — enums, return types, deprecated APIs — so I fixed it up and made it public.
✅ Compatible with QGIS 4.0 (Qt6)
✅ Auto-organizes styles into ProjectName/ subfolders
✅ Configurable keyboard shortcuts
✅ i18n support (EN + UK) -
