  1. It's really sad to see how #Mirantis completely gave up on #OpenSource. After moving from OpenLens to a very failed attempt at something called Lens Desktop Core they decided to make Lens fully closed source. For all users of Mirantis' remaining Open Source products such as k0s or k0smotron now's the time to rethink that decision. Chances are not too low that both will be abandoned or made closed source anytime soon.

From computing and electronics to glass working, jewellery, laser cutting crafts and , not to mention textiles and leatherwork, woodwork and metalwork. I mentioned the lino cut printing. There is also vinyl cut work and screen printing. All in one place.

  16. Had a play with the 3D scanner (Creality Raptor) at Cambridge last night, scanning some we collected in Lyme Regis last month. I was impressed with how much detail it was able to pick up from small objects. I learned how to scan both sides of an object and join the parts to make a complete 3D model.

  17. Makes me feel old thinking back when I got my first cell phone, we had to pay like 99 Finnish pennies to send an SMS and it was limited to 160 characters. It was somehow magical when Skype came to mobiles, especially its chat part which finally made text chatting free.

    Thinking back, Skype used to be a thing. Everyone I knew was on it and it was finally the first time ever when I could chat with all my foreign friends when I was on the road. They also had a Linux client which worked pretty well, until some minor software company bought Skype out and magically the Linux version was starved out.
