Gorgeous, vibrant public art adorn these housing building walls in #Southmelbourne #Australia.

I love the realism and striking colours of each work.

This lone #iceskater located on the #stklida #Esplinade #Australia is simply majestic.

It stands at over 10 foot tall on the Upper Esplanade and peers serenely over the tram tracks, the foreshore and bay, toward the west of our gorgeous city!

This iconic beauty celebrates the previous existence of the St. Moritz Ice Rink. This venue was a popular ice rink housed in a grand building on The Esplanade, which operated between 1939–1981.

As one of only two ice rinks in Melbourne in the 40s and 50s, it played a central role to the sport of ice hockey in Australia.

Closed in 1982, as it suffered a major fire and was then demolished.

The St. Moritz was first built as the Wattle Path Palais de Danse in 1922, a very large dance hall.

Here’s #Bronte zonked out on the bed.

With the sudden departure of her pal and sister #Missy a few weeks back, her life has changed considerably. She’s now the solo cat of the household.

Bought her a new blanky which she’s taking full advantage of, now the weather has turned cold. And she’s calling less for her sis. Loads of cuddles and ‘us’ time has helped her transition, I think.

Our pet’s become embedded as a part of the family-propper and it’s such a shame they only visit us for such a short time.

I’m sure all pet owners agree.

All the same, I’m sure Missy is flying high in her new existence.

It’s #camellia season!

#CamelliaSasanqua is a species of Camellia native to China and Japan.

This one is gorgeous and healthy. The leaves are characteristically shiny (some are waxy) and the deep pinks of the petals and yellows of the filament-anthers are something else.

Some sad news.

#Missy, our gorgeous Tonkinese passed early last week.

She had been struggling health-wise for the past six months, however her recent decline was rapid and is now racing around elsewhere I’m sure, in another world of wonderment and joy.

Thankful that she brought so much love and light to our lives and kept #Bronte-cat company.

Be well beautiful girl.

You’re not too far from here, only a dimension or two away.

Such is #Melbourne’s weather, ‘four seasons in one day, raining, drizzly in the morning, blue skies, sun and glorious this arvo.

The sight of this #crepemyrtle warranted a stop off and snapping.
It’s just gorgeous.

This is in its flowering prime and was surrounded by about 8 others of the same size and colour, at a care facility in #Camberwell #Australia.

As part of the #VicGov (#victoriangovernment) train infrastructure upgrades and boom gate removal project, a good deal of the track is now located above… opened only a couple of years ago.

Capital works in #melbourne and surrounding inner and outer suburbs, including a comprehensive underground train tunnelling network to complement the existing tunnels in the city, have been under construction in varying stages near on ten years now.

It’s designed to remove congestion due to traffic stoppages at boom gate intersections, quicker commute times for public transport users and to open the growth corridor of the out SE suburbs for commuters to better access the surrounding suburbs and city.

The bonus? New flora!

These dozen or so #crepemyrtle are flowering profusely and they bring up this otherwise dreary street enormously.

Such a mood lifter.
