A shallow creek running through the deep bush, in #Blackwood #Victoria #Australia on this fine Spring day.
Ferns and #gumtrees adorned this space for hundreds of square kilometres… thriving in their natural habitat.
Earlier, #kookaburras were heard ringing out amongst the tree tops.
Blue Wrens flitted throughout the trees.
And no other person was around, for miles.
This is kinda Heaven on Earth!

Sometimes known as the #TasmanianFuscia this #CorreaBackhouseana is a species of shrub that is endemic to coastal (and near-coastal areas) of southern Australia.
It has elliptical to egg-shaped or round leaves that are densely hairy on the lower surface, and cylindrical to funnel-shaped, cream-coloured to pale green or red and yellow flowers.
And it’s not surprising this beauty can be found on the great State of #Tasmania, too!
This, with a bursting heart, is posted here for everyone, although is especially dedicated to the ‘@Lioness of Heart’ herself, who lives on the heart-shaped isle of #Tassie.

It is a #ViburnumTinus, the laurustinus, laurustine or laurestine… sounds akin to a mouthwash huh (Oz audience will understand!)??
They’re in early bloom and there were half a dozen healthy looking specimens growing in this front yard in #Mckinnon #Austrlia, so I expect these to be in full bloom in the next week or so.
Delicate, small and pretty looking flowers. Just gorgeous.

Hi Jen! Good question!!
Generally Australia does not experience wide spread #snow falls during #winter but we do have what’s knows as our #HighCountry in the State of Victoria.
We do have #snowfields, good skiing in general. Most of Victoria's alpine resorts lie to the north-east of Melbourne. Anywhere from say 2 to 4.5 hrs drive from our capital city Melbs.
These are a few of Victoria’s snowfields: #LakeMountain, #MtBawBaw, #MtBuller and #MtStirling, #MtHotham and #FallsCreek.

#newsouthwales has awesome snowfields. The largest ski resort in the #SouthernHemisphere is #Perisher. It has 47 lifts, plenty of runs, five terrain parks and around 100km of cross country trails. In #Thredbo you can ski Australia’s longest runs.
The Australian State of a #Tasmania, the island located to the south of Victoria, experiences flurries and snow falls throughout winter too. It’s closer to the #SouthPole. #Tassie is a gorgeous part of our country. 👏👍

#Warburton is beautiful this time of year.
This is a pic of a public garden aligning the #YarraRiver on a cool #autumn day.
Cloudy, overcast and around 15 degree’s C (60F). Pretty cold, but I’m welcoming the change of season with open arms given the obvious ‘visual’ spoils on offer!

A lone and late blooming orange flower, alongside the flowing waters of the #YarraRiver, #Warburton #Australia.
My bud @Witchy_Minx tells it’s a #Freesia.
She mentioned at the time they normally bloom mid to late October. Now is the time to be planting the bulbs, so they flower in the Spring.
This one’s obviously a ring-in!

#banksia marginata… also known as the #silverbanksia, is a woody shrub in the plant (a #Banksia) found throughout much of southeastern Australia.
The yellow inflorescences (flower spikes) bloom from late summer to early winter. The flower spikes fade to brown and then grey and develop woody follicles which drop seeds.
You can see this one, pictured in #Warburton #Australia - and the various inflorescence stages. Some are blooming beautifully, whilst others are almost at the seeding stage.
I was taken with this shrub… it was growing in a public reserve in the centre of town.
Just gorgeous!

The #bower plant or #bowervine, is a species of flowering plant endemic to eastern #Australia.
It is a woody climber with leaves that have three to nine egg-shaped leaflets, and white or pink trumpet-shaped flowers that are red and hairy inside.
You can see how the leaves are attached (stuck) to the side wall of this residential dwelling.
It is often grown as an ornamental.
The flowers are cute and eye catching.
I haven’t seen many of these around this summer. I really liked this!
