The Time of my Life.

I SHOULD OPEN BY STATING THAT Ceeteejackson.com IS THE SOLE AUTHORIZED HOME OF MY WRITING.

I don’t buy much. Hey, I’m Scottish! I’m not known for spending money … short arms, deep pockets and all that. 😉

When I do splash the cash, it usually centres around music and books, and coming up with a ‘best ever’ from all that ‘clutter’ (according to my wife) is well-nigh impossible.

However, if asked the best purchase I’ve ever made, I’d have to say, Time.

Now, I don’t mean I bought Time like Trump seems (allegedly) to have recently ‘bought’ Infantino, In fact, I don’t recall any negotiation or deals being made at all, so maybe it’d be more accurate to say, I ‘acquired’ Time as opposed to paid for it. And when you think on it anyway, how could I physically transact Time. Who would I make the cheque payable to?

And how could its value be quantified? I know, for my part, having suffered the Sudden Cardiac Arrest, had I been in a conscious state, I would probably have been quite happy to pay over the odds for an extra five minutes. And yet the owner, whoever that may be, saw fit to play fair and didn’t squeeze the last vestige of hope and promise from my soul.

‘Five more minutes’ is a standing joke in my family:

“Colin, come on, finish that pint, we have to go home now …”
“Five more minutes …?”
“Hurry up – we’ll be late …!”
“Five more minutes, please …?”
“Colin! Out the pool now – we’re going to dinner!” (That’s a holiday quote – we don’t actually have a pool. Or dinner.😉)
“Five more minutes …?”

“OK, Colin Jackson / 05081958. This is it this time.” (You need to read the book 😉)
“Aaw! Go on Mr Death – five more minutes, eh?”

No matter how we do it; no matter how much it costs, the most precious thing any one of us will ever buy, is Time.

Fortunately, I seem to have taken out an extended warranty on my purchase.

I started doing something a few months ago and mentally it is a very good thing to do.

There are a number of social media accounts where the creator posts a video of them (usually discussing an HR issue). They will talk through some WhatsApp conversation between an employee and a toxic employer, only to then cut off the message at a really annoying moment leaving you searching their posts to find part 2. Chris Donnelly is one of the worst for this.

My tip? BLOCK THEM.

It tanks their algorithm, stops you seeing their clickbait videos, and more importantly it cuts their funding stream dead. You'll never get their videos recommended and you'll never have to be put in the frustrating situation of only seeing half a story.

They create clickbait and by clicking you are being baited.

Your life is too precious for these people to do this to you.
