  1. Not my kind of engineering, but having used the tunnels in the Faroes on many occasions, and knowing a number of people old enough to appreciate and talk about the difference that they have made, I will be very interested to see how this progresses.

  5. I was spinning the light grey Faroe, and thought 'I'm sure I got a jumper's worth of this.' so I went rooting. I'ts even better than a whole jumper's worth of grey!

I must have had a stripey one planned but now I'm wondering if different colour marled three ply where the dominant colour changes would be nice.

Either way it's a big project. So at least I have a bit of colour to stop me getting too bored with it.

  7. According to the Færeyinga saga, the first settler in the Faroe Islands was a man named Grímr Kamban, it may have been the land taking of Grímr and his followers that caused the anchorites to leave. The nickname Kamban is probably Gaelic and one interpretation is that the word refers to some physical handicap, another that it may point to his prowess as a sportsman. Probably he came as a young man to the Faroe Islands by way of Viking Ireland.

  8. Hype for the Future 87B: The Isolated Islands of Europe

Introduction The North Sea is home to the Orkney, Shetland, and Faroe Island territories. Orkney and Shetland are today part of Scotland, while the Faroe Islands are today part of Denmark. However, all three (3) island chains effectively appear the same geographically, with mostly cultural differences separating the three island chains. The Orkney Islands are the furthest south and are immediately north of Caithness on the Scottish mainland, while the Shetland Islands to the north represent […]

We already have endless moon energy right here, in our ocean tides. Using underwater kites that fly on tidal streams to generate energy, we’re making the most of the resources we already have." #Farøe #FaroeIslands #Energy #Ecology skf.com/group/fighting-frictio
