Mac LC problem found!!! After the bad ROM, SCSI was not working. The lower than 5V voltage was a red herring. The real problem? Yes, yet another broken trace! SCSI data bus pin 4 (DB4) was disconnected from the SCSI controller pin 50. Jeez, these PCBs! In four LCs I own now, only one didn’t have a PCB problem.
Super happy to have a 68020 join the family! I now have (at least) a Mac with every 68K CPU Apple used (well I’m missing a real 040 but the LC040 still counts!).

We Beat The Trump Administration In Court
October 24, 2026
Tariq Ra’ouf, Mondoweiss.
Now we’re going to the ICC to hold the U.S. accountable for the Gaza genocide.
A recent lawsuit successfully challenged the Trump administration’s assault on the International Criminal Court. Now, families like mine, whose relatives have been killed with U.S.-supplied weapons in Gaza, might finally have a chance at justice.
Over the course of the last three years, my family has lost 49 family members in Gaza. Their bodies were torn apart by shrapnel, crushed by falling buildings, and mutilated by bullets and munitions made and provided by the United States of America. Now, the U.S. is trying to dismantle the International Criminal Court, the only international court that can criminally prosecute U.S. officials for aiding and enabling genocide, by sanctioning the Court and attempting to intimidate anyone, including U.S. citizens, from working with them. So, in response, I joined others to sue this administration in order to take them to the very court they’re trying to destroy.
I’m a Palestinian-American organizer, and I helped establish Taxpayers Alliance Against Genocide (TAAG), which recently partnered with Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN) to sue the Trump administration so we can continue much-needed legal and advocacy work. Over the course of over a year, TAAG worked with an international legal team to prepare evidence against top U.S. officials for aiding and enabling the genocide of my people, but up until now, we haven’t been able to submit our evidence to the ICC because of this administration’s attacks and sanctions on the court and its judges.
Thankfully, that will now change after we successfully challenged the Trump administration in court. On October 13 we won a preliminary injunction that blocks this administration from being able to target our groups for working with sanctioned parties, clearing the way for us to proceed to the ICC. For the first time since the genocide started, I am beginning to see a glimmer of hope that justice will be found for the dozens of family members I have lost in Gaza.
The Trump administration’s war on the ICC
Long before the Trump administration sanctioned the entirety of the International Criminal Court (ICC) on October 9, it first enacted Executive Order 14203 in February of 2025. This executive order granted administration officials the ability to sanction foreign nationals for supporting the ICC’s investigations into U.S. and Israeli parties guilty of committing war crimes and their complicity in genocide. Under this Executive Order (EO) , the Trump administration also sanctioned leading Palestinian human rights groups al-Haq, al-Mezan, and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR), as well as the UN Special Rapporteur for the Human Rights Situation on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, Francesca Albanese, along with other ICC officials.
What many people don’t know is that the EO that allowed the administration to sanction these parties doesn’t only go after foreign nationals, it also makes it a federal offense — punishable by a $1 million dollar fine and/or 20 years in prison — for anyone, including American citizens, who provides or receives a “service” to or from a sanctioned party. This provision of the EO is exactly why TAAG and DAWN took this administration to court: Our lawsuit argued that the EO violates our First Amendment rights as American citizens to speak, associate, and engage in Palestine-related human rights advocacy with these parties. As a founding member of TAAG, I can tell you firsthand how these sanctions have prevented us and organizations like DAWN from being able to continue our work sharing evidence and advocacy ideas with people like Albanese and ICC officials, because the definition of “service” is so broad and undefined — the US can interpret it as being anything that confers a benefit to the recipient.
In an October 9 video of Marco Rubio announcing the actions against the ICC, he tries defending the administration’s actions by calling the ICC a “rogue court,” which the U.S. is “not subject to the jurisdiction of.” But Rubio leaves out a fundamental principle of international law: A country does not have to join the ICC for its nationals to fall within the Court’s jurisdiction.
If a country that is not a State Party to the Rome Statute commits a war crime on the lands of a country that is a state party, the perpetrator of that crime can be investigated. Given that Palestine is a State Party to the Rome Statute, and that Gaza (and the West Bank) are classified as Occupied Palestinian Territories by the United Nations, the ICC has every right to investigate and prosecute the United States and Israel for the insurmountable war crimes committed against my family members and thousands of other innocent civilians.
It is clear that the only “protections” this administration are seeking are for the citizens responsible for aiding and abetting war crimes, which after three years, we have plenty of evidence of. Anthony Aguilar, a retired US special forces officer and whistleblower who resigned from his work with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) aid distribution centers in Gaza, has gone on record saying he saw the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) shooting at crowds of Palestinians, and in an interview with the BBC says he saw Israeli and American military forces of the GHF using an “indiscriminate and unnecessary force against a civilian population, an unarmed, starving population.”
Rubio consistently mentions the idea of “protecting American citizens” from investigations by the ICC, but the citizens he is referring to are the ones committing the war crimes he doesn’t want investigated. What about American citizens whose families have been killed with U.S.-supplied weapons? Who protects our right to seek justice?
In sanctioning the entirety of the ICC, the Trump administration is not only trying to cripple any attempt to hold them accountable for their war crimes, but they’re also telling American citizens like myself that if you dare to seek justice for the family members you’ve lost, we’ll imprison you.
The struggle for accountability moves forward
Now that the courts sided with us in our lawsuit, we are finally able to prepare for the next steps ahead.
With the injunction in place, TAAG is now moving forward to finalize its evidence submission and plans to imminently send this to the ICC. We are also rallying support, within the US and beyond, for human rights organizations and advocates for the ICC to act responsibly upon this massive collection of evidence, in hopes that more parties take appropriate legal actions where possible. We fundamentally believe that grassroots movements like ours, and so many throughout the world, are the ones who must step up where our leadership has failed, and build the democratic, popular power capable of ensuring that legal action against genocide is taken and enforced.
We also hope that our actions inspire more American citizens to speak up against this administration and the priorities of our government. I helped found Taxpayers Alliance Against Genocide because I’m sick of our tax dollars being used against my own family in Gaza, while our communities here in the U.S. suffer from a lack of housing, education and healthcare. Those of us within TAAG recognize that we have a duty as American citizens to hold our nation accountable for the war crimes they commit, not just in Gaza but all over the world. We will not rest until we’ve exhausted every avenue to seek justice and accountability for these war crimes. We will continue collecting evidence, and pursuing every available legal avenue, moving forward with our crucial evidence work for a prospective submission to the ICC and advance our efforts to hold U.S. officials accountable for crimes against humanity.
We will not be intimidated into abandoning our work, our families, or the principle that no one is above the law.

Navigating a restaurant menu can feel overwhelming—especially when you’re balancing taste preferences, dietary goals, and nutritional concerns. With the explosion of AI food tech in recent years, a new era of “smart menu” experiences is emerging. AI menu analysis isn’t just about digitizing paper menus; it’s fundamentally transforming how diners discover, understand, and choose their meals. From estimating hidden calories to surfacing dishes tailored to your preferences, these innovations are reshaping both dining out and online ordering.
The Challenge: Decoding Restaurant Nutrition
Most diners want to make informed choices, but restaurant nutrition information is often buried, incomplete, or absent altogether. Even when calorie counts are available, they rarely account for personal needs—like allergies, macros, or dietary restrictions. Manually scanning for options that fit your criteria can be tedious and error-prone, especially at busy or unfamiliar restaurants.This is where AI menu analysis comes in. By leveraging machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision, AI-powered systems can extract, interpret, and enhance menu data at scale. The result: more transparent, personalized, and actionable restaurant nutrition insights for both diners and operators.
How AI Menu Analysis Works
1. Menu Digitization and Parsing
The first step is converting static menus into machine-readable data. AI models (often using OCR—Optical Character Recognition) can scan printed or photographed menus and extract structured information. Natural language processing (NLP) is then applied to parse dish names, descriptions, and even detect ingredient lists.// Example: Simple menu item extraction using regex and NLP concepts
const menuText = `
Grilled Salmon Salad - Fresh greens, grilled salmon, avocado, and vinaigrette. 450 kcal
Classic Burger - Beef patty, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, brioche bun. 800 kcal
`;const dishRegex = /(.*?)\s*-\s*(.*?)\.\s*(\d+)\s*kcal/gi;
const menuItems = [];
let match;while ((match = dishRegex.exec(menuText)) !== null) {
menuItems.push({
name: match[1].trim(),
description: match[2].trim(),
calories: parseInt(match[3], 10)
});
}console.log(menuItems);
Real-world systems go much further, handling inconsistent formatting, synonyms, and multilingual content.
2. Nutritional Value Estimation
Many menus lack detailed nutrition facts. AI can bridge these gaps by analyzing dish descriptions and predicting nutrition profiles. This typically involves:- Ingredient recognition: Identifying possible ingredients based on dish names and descriptions.
- Recipe inference: Estimating likely preparation methods and quantities.
- Database matching: Mapping extracted ingredients to known nutrient databases (like USDA or Open Food Facts).
Machine learning models trained on vast recipe and nutrition datasets can predict calories, macros, and even allergen presence with surprising accuracy.
// Pseudo-code: Predicting calories for a dish using AI
async function estimateDishCalories(dishDescription: string): Promise<number> {
// This would call an AI model or API trained on recipe/nutrition data
const estimated = await callCaloriePredictionModel(dishDescription);
return estimated.calories;
}3. Personalization and Smart Recommendations
AI menu analysis unlocks highly personalized experiences:- Dietary filtering: Instantly flagging dishes that fit vegan, gluten-free, or keto diets.
- Allergen detection: Highlighting items that may contain peanuts, shellfish, or other triggers.
- Preference learning: Recommending dishes based on past orders, ratings, or explicit preferences.
- Health scoring: Ranking menu items by metrics like calorie density, sodium content, or “healthiness” for the user.
Some apps leverage collaborative filtering (like Netflix or Spotify) to surface dishes that similar users have enjoyed. Others use reinforcement learning to improve suggestions over time.
// Example: Filtering menu items for a vegetarian user
const vegetarianKeywords = ['vegetable', 'cheese', 'tofu', 'salad', 'beans'];
function isVegetarian(dish: { description: string }) {
const desc = dish.description.toLowerCase();
return vegetarianKeywords.some(keyword => desc.includes(keyword));
}const vegetarianOptions = menuItems.filter(isVegetarian);
console.log(vegetarianOptions);4. Enhanced Menu Interfaces
Modern “smart menu” platforms use AI to power interactive interfaces, both on-premise (via tablets or QR codes) and online. Features include:- Dynamic search: Type “high-protein, under 500 calories” and see instant matches.
- Visualizations: See nutrition breakdowns, allergen alerts, or compare dishes side-by-side.
- Voice assistants: Ask for “spicy vegan options” and get spoken recommendations.
This not only improves accessibility for all diners, but also helps restaurants stand out in a crowded market.
AI Food Tech in Action
A growing ecosystem of AI food tech products is making these features widely available:- Restaurant apps and POS systems: Many now integrate AI-driven nutrition and filtering.
- Third-party platforms: Apps like Yummly, OpenMenu, and LeanDine offer AI-powered menu analysis, personalized recommendations, and nutrition transparency across thousands of restaurants.
- Custom deployments: Some restaurant groups build proprietary AI models tailored to their cuisine and customer base.
On the backend, open-source libraries (such as spaCy for NLP, or TensorFlow for custom ML models) enable developers to integrate AI menu analysis into their own applications.
Challenges and Considerations
While the potential is tremendous, deploying AI menu analysis at scale isn’t trivial:- Data quality: Menus are notoriously inconsistent—misspellings, colloquial names, and “secret sauce” ingredients can trip up even the best models.
- Cultural and regional variation: Dishes with the same name can differ wildly in composition.
- Privacy and consent: Personalization requires collecting user preferences and sometimes health data, raising important privacy questions.
- Model transparency: Explaining how calorie or allergen predictions are made is essential for trust and regulatory compliance.
Addressing these challenges requires careful engineering, ongoing model retraining, and clear communication to both restaurants and diners.
Building a Simple AI-Driven Smart Menu (Example)
Suppose you want to provide a “smart menu” experience in your own restaurant web app. At a high level, you’d:- Digitize the menu (via OCR, manual entry, or import).
- Parse dish descriptions and structure the data.
- Augment with nutrition estimates using an AI API or open database.
- Add filtering and ranking based on user dietary preferences.
- Display results in a user-friendly, interactive UI.
Here’s a simplified TypeScript-style sketch:
type MenuItem = {
name: string;
description: string;
calories?: number;
isVegan?: boolean;
};function filterMenu(
items: MenuItem[],
{ maxCalories, veganOnly }: { maxCalories?: number; veganOnly?: boolean }
): MenuItem[] {
return items.filter(item => {
if (maxCalories !== undefined && (item.calories ?? Infinity) > maxCalories) {
return false;
}
if (veganOnly && !item.isVegan) {
return false;
}
return true;
});
}// Example usage:
const smartMenu = filterMenu(menuItems, { maxCalories: 500, veganOnly: true });You could further extend this with AI-powered search, nutritional scoring, or even integration with fitness tracking apps.
The Road Ahead
The fusion of AI menu analysis and restaurant nutrition transparency is just beginning. As machine learning models improve and data becomes richer, expect even more granular, actionable insights—like real-time portion customization, automatic pairing suggestions, or even “health nudges” based on your goals.For both diners and restaurants, smart menus powered by AI food tech are making eating out (and ordering in) a more informed, inclusive, and enjoyable experience.
Key Takeaways
- AI menu analysis transforms static restaurant menus into dynamic, personalized, and nutrition-aware experiences.
- Restaurant nutrition information is becoming more transparent and actionable through machine learning and NLP.
- Smart menu systems enable dietary filtering, allergen detection, and personalized recommendations at scale.
- A host of AI food tech solutions—from open-source libraries to commercial platforms—make integration possible for developers and restaurants of all sizes.
- Challenges remain around data quality, privacy, and transparency, but the future of AI-powered dining is bright—and getting smarter with every meal.

ClipMerge now measures the double-copy interval from the original Windows clipboard notifications, so processing delays do not make a timely second copy miss the merge window.
Copying several selected history entries, including Copy Name and Content, updates their last-used times in one save instead of saving and uploading the entire history once per selected item.
Routine automatic website-title failures no longer fill the runtime log. Diagnostics retains session counts and a brief failure reason in memory, without website addresses. Actual fault logging and log rotation remain available.

“Donald Trump on Friday ordered the U.S. Department of Justice to preemptively sue Alaska to block the state from certifying the results of its upcoming Senate race if the Republican candidate loses.
The reason behind his unprecedented interference in the race stems from claims that voters might be confused because a candidate on the ballot, Dan J. Sullivan Jr., has a similar name to the incumbent Republican senator, Dan S. Sullivan, running for the Alaskan Senate seat.
The DOJ's lawsuit, filed in federal court in Anchorage on Thursday, states the Trump administration will contest the results of the November 3rd midterm elections if the Republican loses the race to Democrat Mary Peltola.

CW: Sexual violence, US politics
Re: Amy Acton in Ohio…
I don't know how seriously sexual violence toward children was treated in 1978, but I DO know firsthand about how unseriously domestic violence was handled in the 1980s.
There's no doubt in my mind that, for police and a court to permanently separate two kids from their mother back then, what those kids lived through must've been absolutely horrific.
To hell with Ramaswamy, Vance, and Trump and all who still support them.

Math.random()is not a key generator. Everyone knows this. And yet — when a widely deployed SM2 library seeded its key material at module load, that's effectively what happened. Except worse: in Node.js, the randomness pool was never even filled.This is the story of CVE-2026-73567, a vulnerability I reported and got credited for after independent reproduction by the maintainer, and what it teaches us about the whole class of weak-entropy key compromises.
The discovery
While auditing key-generation paths in SM2 (the Chinese national elliptic-curve standard, mandatory in regulated industries there), I noticed something odd in the dependency chain: a big-number library harvested entropy fromMath.random()— the non-cryptographic, browser-grade PRNG — at module initialization, and used it to seed its internal state. That state then fed private-key generation.The publicly discussed impact assumed ~128
Math.random()calls at startup. When I built an instrumented Node victim and counted, the real number was zero. V8 defersMath.random()'s pool initialization in a way that left the seeding path reading predictable values — the effective root cause was a clock-only seed, and the advisory's root cause was corrected accordingly.The consequence: given roughly a millisecond-scale time window, private keys were recoverable by enumeration. Sub-second. On an ordinary laptop.
And it didn't stop at static keys. The same RNG stream also fed signing nonces and ephemeral encryption keys. That means a key used only for signing was equally recoverable, and ciphertext from affected versions could be decrypted without the key.
What happened next
- The maintainer independently reproduced my findings, corrected the advisory's root-cause description, expanded the impact statement (nonces, ephemerals), and shipped a fix requiring caller-supplied CSPRNG.
- My credit line — "Guigui Wang (Correctover)" — is now part of the public advisory.
- Versions before the fix remain vulnerable forever. Every key generated by an unpatched build in a predictable-time window should be considered compromised.
This is a class, not an incident
One library got caught. But weak entropy is a systematic failure mode across the key-management stack:- V8's PRNG (
Math.random(), xorshift128+ / MWC1616 eras) can be fully state-recovered from a handful of consecutive outputs — meaning any JS wallet or signing code that ever touches non-CSPRNG randomness is one observation away from compromise. - Historical events (Randstorm-class bugs, 2014-era wallet RNG flaws) show the same pattern repeating across ecosystems.
- Cross-address clustering: weak-RNG victims often reuse exposed material across chains and address types, turning one bad key into a trail of them.
- The SM2 ecosystem is structurally exposed here: guomi compliance pushes SM2 into places where the surrounding JS/Node key hygiene was never designed for it.
If your product generates keys, signs, or encrypts — in JavaScript especially — the question isn't whether your crypto is strong. It's whether your entropy path is.
What we do about it
At Correctover we recover keys from weak entropy — to prove the exposure before someone malicious does, and to build evidence that holds up:- Black-box weak-entropy health checks on key generation and signing paths
- Real recovery demonstrations in isolated environments, with signed, timestamped evidence receipts (Ed25519 + RFC 3161) — findings a court or auditor can verify without trusting us
- Coordinated disclosure done right: the advisory process above is our reference case
If you build wallets, custody, or exchange infrastructure and want your entropy path audited against this exact attack class, reach out: [email protected].

Faces and Machine Vision: Public Conversations on Facial Al and Society
Iscte_Conhecimento e Inovação (Edifício 4), quarta-feira, 4 de novembro às 08:30 GMT
ISCTE - Building 4 - 3rd Floor - Room A302
Facial recognition and other forms of facial AI are increasingly used across policing and border control, smartphones and digital platforms, healthcare and education, and a growing range of everyday environments. In this context, facial AI refers broadly to AI-enabled systems that detect, analyse, or infer information from faces, such as identification/verification, categorisation, emotion/affect inference, attention and behaviour analytics, and other predictive or profiling applications.This meeting brings together a diverse international group of social sciences and humanities experts–spanning STS, semiotics, art and cultural studies, policy, design, visual culture, and surveillance studies–to discuss a timely and urgent question: what is at stake when facial AI makes the face a key interface for decision-making, governance, and everyday life?
This event explores how machine vision reshapes what counts as being “seen” (and what becomes invisible); how design choices embed power and assumptions; how masks, avatars, and algorithmic “faciality” rework identity and recognition; how surveillance systems reproduce racial and gender inequalities; how computational approaches can help map public controversies; how histories and cultural narratives of AI influence what becomes thinkable or inevitable; and what “responsible” governance could look like in practice.
Guiding questions include: What does it mean to be “seen” by a machine? Who defines what is visible, measurable, and actionable? Which inequalities are amplified and under what conditions? How do surveillance systems become normalised within institutions (schools, campuses, workplaces)? What does a feminist/decolonial approach change in how risk, safety, and “user needs” are defined? What are the alternatives to facial recognition beyond a simple “ban vs allow” framing? How can artistic and creative practices help publics imagine and debate different futures?
