Upgraded to Pop!_OS 24.04 and the Cosmic Desktop on my System76 OryxPro. Very snappy so far, A couple of little things are bugging me: Cosmic terminal has limited color options for text and background, and any desktop icons are duplicated on every screen. I only want them on the main screen. Also, no sound test button in the sound settings applet. #pop_os #linux #COSMICdesktopEnvironment #System76

I've finally nailed down the #music studio setup, and can say for music I'm 95% migrated to #Linux (with some #Windows dependence still due to drivers required for programming one of my #synths).
Using a #system76 tower with #Arch, running #FLStudio with #WineASIO (finally works! no latency from synths!), #lmms, and #Ardour.
Next project is migrating #Tidalcycles from #VSCodium to #Vim (maybe?)

Update on buying a #Linux #computer. Pulled the trigger last night on ordering a #System76 #Pangolin #laptop. #AMDRyzen9 96GB of RAM (probably overkill) and two internal 4TB SSDs. Did get the 3-year warranty in case I need it. Did set it to come with #Pop_OS to try it out but might choose a different distro if I don’t like it. Excited to leave the #Apple ecosystem, though.

Seems the keyboard issue on my #GalagoPro has finally resolved itself (been using an external one). 🙂
Now all I need is an external battery for it, as the internal one is dead. @system76 can you give me any recommendations, please?

I love #Slimbook, #Tuxedo and also #Starlabs! #System76 sell great machines, but importing one would mean a 21% VAT price surcharge.
Currently still very happy with my #Thinkpad #T14 (Gen 1, AMD). At the time, ordering without an OS wasn't possible, so I settled for M$ Wind*ws, which I immediately replaced with #Fedora. From the ordering & payment procedure I got the impression that #Lenovo didn't really want to sell anything to me at all. Delivery took 8 weeks.
