  1. You can see an early version of it and read more about the concept in this unlisted video youtube.com/watch?v=WVLAaqTTO64

For future version I want to do a bit more beat mangling and scratching. Really glad that @mixxx has configurable midi input to make this who thing possible!

  6. Last week I did the first live performance of my live coding + DJing project at Threading in Malmö. The project is inspired by The Belleville Three who would use drum machines to mix between tracks at parties in the 1980s.

There were a few rough moments, like having two layers of 808s on a massive sound system provided an amount of bass, but I'm overall really happy with how it all went.

I sadly didn't record the performance but I'll be making some clips to share in the future.

  11. theyre talking about "detail preserving clippers" on tiktok (credit to Tom Finster and Au5) which i guess is basically a clipper that folds back some high frequency content

i made something like that in #Bitwig and then also as a #SuperDirt module (for #TidalCycles). my implementation might be wrong. but anyway i got carried away and made this breakbeat

  16. today we get to experience the third and final installment of the absolutely luxurious autumn #BonkWave and/or/xor/nand #NotBonkWave compilation. release party in 3 hours! cal.gravitons.org/event/album-

this is the sample challenge disc, to which i also contributed a track. it may be the fastest ive ever produced a track, so this one is a more straightforward dancefloor "jumputus" as we say in finnish, made in #TidalCycles

  17. I cleaned up my OBS configs and got a video recording. It's all needlessly complicated.

The visuals are kinda being controlled by midi via *deep breath* TidalCycles midi > Univer Inter midi to CV module > 3trinsRGB video synth > video output to capture card > composited under TidalCycles code in OBS.

  18. I'm feeling like I can't/don't want to make anything with beats at the moment.

  19. I'm learning Tidal Cycles, and it turns out it's pretty easy to get cool J Dilla-style microtiming effects:

  20. I've started writing my own SuperCollider synths to use in Tidal Cycles! This one is a classic acid bass, and I'm using it for the bassline from “365”

  21. I wanted to understand my tools better, and I figured out how to do algorave/livecoding with Tidal Cycles from Neovim with no plugins and just a bit of my own code!

It was a fun project, and it's reassuring to know I'm able to do that on my own.

Here's one more clip from towards the end of the second song.

    Definitely doing more of this!

  23. AlgoRhythms last night was a lot of fun! I went into it knowing that I wanted to play something completely different than my usual 160bpm footwork inspired stuff.

I rather quickly put together a couple of VCV Rack/Cardinal patches, combined it with TidalCycles and created something a bit more mellow.

I got some good and constructive feedback. Folks who had seen me perform before noted that it was different but still liked it 🙂 Still a lot I want to work on but for a first performance using this method I'm happy with where it's going.

Thanks to Algorave London for having me!
