Hangisini tercih edersem o kalacak diğerleri gidecek!

  7. Did a #Debian install today and, in light of my tinkering with #LinuxMint to find a good distribution for my mom later this year; I've realized that, since I'll be the one maintaining and updating it for her, Debian Gnome with "Dash to Panel", "ArcMenu" and a few other extensions may actually be a good fit for her. #ArcMenu is really nice because it lets you customize your "Start" menu, so she could set it up to something familiar to her. Debian Gnome also has built in RDP support.

  9. I like #ArcMenu (I have the a.z. style set, and pinned to the top center of the primary display), but one thing I wish it did was let me collapse things in its "All apps" lists to, say, the folders used in the default GNOME overview. That would help me sort things like the fldigi-related apps together, or LibreOffice, or system apps, or micro-utility apps like Mini Text...

In part this post was inspired by noticing an app called Flarq, which turns out was installed with fldigi...

  15. Isn't my fresh #ArchLinux desktop cool?

I just love how smoothly a Linux system tends to run. I forget I install it to a 7200 RPM hard disk sometimes because it feels at least as responsive as my Windows and macOS installs on SSDs.

  19. 1. Nautilus: If I search, it locks up at the first letter typed and have to force quit.
This was a problem with and doing a reset of it solved it.
2. Gnome extensions: After reboot, and , among others, aren’t working. I have to disable user extensions and then re-enable to get them to work.
More research determined it was just a problem. In the Desktop -> Dock Settings, I disabled the “dock” to resolve it.

  20. Now I have two “weirdness” issues:
    1. Nautilus: If I search, it locks up at the first letter typed and have to force quit.
    2. Gnome extensions: After reboot, and , among others, aren’t working. I have to disable user extensions and then re-enable to get them to work.

Neither of these were problems on my first reinstall, so not sure what’s going on…

  22. Arc Menu Extension Adds a New Layout & Standalone Runner Mode

I already think Arc Menu is one of the best GNOME extensions out there, and seeing the change-log for its latest release I’m reminded why. Arc Menu v20 is chock-full of enhancements spanning everything from bug fixes and visual refinements through to brand new menu layouts and additional customisation options. The star attraction is the new “A.Z.” menu layout. It’s somewhat inspired by the Windows 11 start menu (and the Windows 11 style layout introduced in the previous releases) just without a “frequent apps” section and using smaller sized icons. KDE Plasma, Pop!_OS, and macOS fans should check out the :sys_more_orange:

  24. ArcMenu GNOME Extension Adds New Windows 11 Layout

A new version of the ArcMenu GNOME extension is available for download, and it’ll be of particular interest to those who want to make Ubuntu look like Windows 11. The latest update to Arc Menu includes a pair of new menu layouts: ‘Launcher’ and ‘Eleven’. The latter of these is modelled on the redesigned ‘Start Menu’ set to ship in Windows 11 when released later this year. A smattering of changes to preexisting layouts also ship in this update, including new names for the Unity-inspired ‘Dash’ and ‘KRunner’ options, plus some tweaks to the Windows layout to toggle Frequent Apps :sys_more_orange:
