  1. @bassbernd

  2. I’ve rebuilt my entire music library and dropped a bunch of new tracks! 🎶
Songs labeled “New Version” are remakes; the rest are brand-new (with a few reuploads). Enjoy!

  4. I have just released my debut solo album, "Tools and Toys", part of an electronic/synthpop project (Transits of Mars) that I've been developing in recent years.

Available to stream and download on Bandcamp.

Produced with free and open-source music production tools in #Linux, mainly #lmms and #ardour.

Hope you like it. More on the way in the new year.

  5. I'm currently living at the rhythm of the news I get from Palestine. The flotillas raised so much hope in me.
This is my first attempt to compose with LMMS. I must say, I really love the expressivity of the synthesizers. I used only the triple oscillator and some effects on it. The track is mono.

  6. Hello everyone. Just recently made my first Mastodon account so I figured I make an introduction post. I’m 30 years old, aroace, and go by he/him. I mostly play video games, listening to music, or watch videos on YT in my free time; but every once in the blue moon, I like playing around with an open source DAW called Linux Multimedia Studios (LMMS).

My fursona is an eel-anglerfish hybrid; however between the two, you can say it’s basically an eel. Unfortunately despite the fact I’ve been a furry since 2011, I don’t have any art of him to share besides my current pfp I’ve made.

I always liked the idea of Mastodon and the fediverse in general. It reminds me a bit of how there were a bunch of separate forums back in the 2000s that you can just take part of. It kinda gives me a similar vibe and it’s one of the reasons why I decided to hop on here, although not sure how active I’ll be posting-wise.

  7. Some digital pianos/keyboards have a “split” feature, which lets you put an instrument on the left hand and a different instrument on the right hand.

For pianos that don’t support this but support MIDI it seems to me that it should be entirely possible to emulate this behaviour in a synthesiser, but searching online I couldn’t really find anything about this. All I found was pianos that supported splitting the keyboard into two separate MIDI channels, but that won’t work.

Is there any way of doing this, preferably on like LMMS or something? Or any software that can get a MIDI channel and split it into two channels depending on the key that is pressed on the piano?

On Linux and open source, please

  9. Put my #SciFi #ShortStory (technically a #novelette or #novella) on my blog at OsugiSakae.com/blog/index.html

About 75 pages. About #AI and #LMMs in #education in the near future. Based on my "AI in Education" entries from about a year or so ago, but updated and edited. Only a PDF right now, but maybe HTML coming if I have time.

  10. I've finally nailed down the #music studio setup, and can say for music I'm 95% migrated to #Linux (with some #Windows dependence still due to drivers required for programming one of my #synths).

Using a #system76 tower with #Arch, running #FLStudio with #WineASIO (finally works! no latency from synths!), #lmms, and #Ardour.

Next project is migrating #Tidalcycles from #VSCodium to #Vim (maybe?)

  12. Hi!

  13. @thatguyoverthere I have. That was quite awhile ago though, and not with the VSTs I know about now. Would that be better than #Cakewalk?

I remember about a decade ago I tried #LMMS on #WindowsXP I think, but the built-in VSTs SUCKED and I had limited internet access so I couldn’t easily install and test other VSTs.

  14. @thor They got bought by #Bandlab. Apparently they’re supposed to make #Cakewalk paid instead of free in the future, but the old installer will always work so IDRC 🤷🏾‍♂️

So far it seems better than #LMMS so I’m happy
