A Brand Story from the Road to #RSAC 2025 — Featuring Akamai Technologies

Every year, as we get ready for RSA Conference, we fire up the engine and the mics—not just to cover the #tech, but to capture the #business, the strategy, and most importantly, the human side of #cybersecurity.

Our latest Brand Story does just that.

In this pre-conference conversation, we sit down with Rupesh Chokshi, SVP & GM of Application Security at #Akamai, to talk about the shifting cybersecurity landscape as we move deeper into the #AI era. From #APIattacks and #LLM scraping to hybrid infrastructures and #zerotrust environments, it’s clear that security is no longer just a barrier—it’s a business enabler.

And Akamai is right at the center of that transformation.

We explore what it means to build real #cyberresilience, how organizations can rethink their security strategy in an AI-driven world, and why this year’s #RSAC2025 Conference is set to be a defining moment for both innovation and trust.

🫶 A special thank you to Akamai for sponsoring our RSAC 2025 coverage and continuing to support conversations that matter.

  9. Here is a good story for the weekend, or - now! 😅

🎙️ From #Newsroom to Lens: Robin N. Hamilton’s Journey Through Documentary Filmmaking and Social Activism

Hey everyone, Marco here. You know I’m all about storytelling—the way it connects us, challenges perspectives, and shapes the world around us. This time on Audio Signals Podcast - on ITSPmagazine, I had the privilege of sitting down with Robin Hamilton, an #Emmy-winning #journalist turned #filmmaker who has dedicated her craft to shedding light on untold stories and driving meaningful change.

Robin’s journey is fascinating—starting in fast-paced newsrooms and evolving into documentary filmmaking, where she takes the time to explore complex narratives with depth and impact. Her films highlight figures like #FannieLouHamer, whose fight for #votingrights still echoes today, and #OdessaMadre, a woman whose legacy challenges our perceptions of power, crime, and opportunity.

In this episode, we dig into how Robin chooses her subjects, crafts her stories, and balances activism with artistry. We talk about the power of independent filmmaking, the responsibility of shaping narratives that matter, and why stories—when told right—can change the way we see history, society, and ourselves.

If you’re passionate about storytelling, filmmaking, or social impact, this conversation is for you.

Join us as we explore the intersection of journalism, documentaries, and the stories that need to be told.

  19. 🚀 🚀 What If You Returned Home from Space… 1,500 Years Later? 🫠

    "Shifting Realities: #Crime, #SciFi, and the #Art of #Storytelling"
Crime fiction and sci-fi might seem like two different worlds, but at their core, they both explore human nature, society, and the passage of time.

In this latest episode of Audio Signals #Podcast, on ITSPmagazine I have a great conversation with Frank Scalise (a.k.a. Frank Zafiro a.k.a. Frank Saverio), a storyteller who has mastered the art of genre-hopping—from gritty crime fiction to mind-bending sci-fi.

Frank’s latest novel, Kemper’s House, dives into the real-life implications of time dilation—a deep #space mission that takes its crew centuries into the #future. They return to Earth 1,500 years later, only to find themselves strangers in their own home. It’s a powerful reflection on #history, #technology, and what it truly means to belong.

    📚 We talk about:
🔹 Why #crimefiction and sci-fi have more in common than you think
🔹 The power of storytelling to explore social and philosophical questions
🔹 Writing under multiple pen names to set reader expectations
🔹 The struggles (and joys) of playing #guitar 🎸

This is a conversation about identity, change, and the stories that shape us—whether they unfold in the streets of a crime novel or the depths of space.

  25. When we started recording podcasts, Sean Martin and I put writing on pause for a bit—but now it’s back, not just in our individual newsletters but also in our event coverage. I enjoy writing, and I plan to do even more with my Musings on Society & #Technology newsletter here on LinkedIn.

    That said…

Here’s my final article (#4) from the ITSPmagazine Podcasts coverage of ThreatLocker’s Zero Trust World 2025 (#ZTW25). In this piece, I reflect on the intersection of society, cybersecurity, innovation, and disruption, inspired by the final keynote from Reggie Fils-Aime, former President and COO of #Nintendo.

"The Disruptive Edge: Innovation, #Cybersecurity, and the Future of a #ZeroTrust Society."

Throughout our coverage, we tackled the evolution of cyber threats, the dark web, supply chain security, #cybercriminals tactics, and now, in this final piece, we turn our focus to the bigger picture.

From Reggie Fils-Aime’s insights on disciplined, disruptive innovation to Danny Jenkins’ closing words on embedding security into everything we build, the event left us with one key question: Is innovation moving too fast for security to keep up, or are we finally embedding security at the core of progress?

For centuries, innovation was slow. Then came the Industrial Revolution, and today, we live in an era of hyper-acceleration, where disruption isn’t a choice—it’s a given. #AI, #automation, and cybersecurity threats evolve faster than we can regulate or adapt. But is this pace making us stronger, or is security still an afterthought?

    🔹 Are we innovating responsibly?
🔹 Are we embedding security into progress?
🔹 Are we disrupting for the right reasons?

Huge thanks to #ThreatLocker for bringing us together in Orlando for these critical discussions and to the incredible speakers who shaped our coverage.

As Danny Jenkins put it best:
"Security isn’t a feature you add later—it’s the foundation of everything we build."

  29. Remember 1969? Landing on the Moon, Woodstock, the Birth of the Internet—So Many Hopes and Dreams… And ‘Come Together’ by The Beatles Playing in the Background.

Well, we are talking about the internet and Supply Chain Security here 😅

    Here we go:

From Trust to Zero Trust: How the Internet’s Original Vision Became a Global Security Risk

The #internet was built on #trust. The first message sent over ARPANET in 1969 linked #UCLA and #Stanford with the idea of open collaboration, a network designed to connect—not defend. That trust-based foundation worked when networks were small and closed. Today, it has become a critical vulnerability.

Supply chains are no longer just about moving goods—they are digital, global, and deeply embedded in every part of modern life. From the #software updates we install to the #infrastructure that keeps our world running, trust is now the attack surface. And the reality is simple: when trust is exploited, society pays the price.

At #ZeroTrustWorld2025 - aka #ztw25 organized by ThreatLocker - Sean Martin and I were on location to explore this shift. Bradford Bleier delivered a wake-up call on how supply chains have become a #cybersecurity battlegrounds, why trust relationships are the weakest link, and why #ZeroTrust isn’t just an #infsecurity framework—it’s a necessity for the world we live in.

🚨 When a pipeline attack disrupts fuel supply, a ransomware hit leaves grocery shelves empty, or a compromised vendor shuts down hospitals, this isn’t just a cybersecurity issue. It’s a societal issue.

🔍 In my latest article for ITSPmagazine Podcasts' Coverage, I break down how we got here, why trust-based #networks no longer work, and what this means for the future of society, technology, and security.
