A bank that is supposed to be regulated by government and therefore save, at least that's the BS politicians have been telling us to justify throwing more bureaucratic crap on us. He probably feels close emotionally to #Trump: Like #Donald, he got his 1st millions from Daddy, only the Trumps became rich exploiting construction workers, while the Musks did so from an #emeraldmine in #Southafrica, built on #black #slavery.
Both are professional sons, but the family of Trump is moderate in comparison to Musk. In other words, Musk is actually even more #fascist than Trump.

@rysiek The #IBM #Thinkpad keyboards were god-level laptop keyboard. Wish they still made them like that.Their #trackpoint sticks where you didn't have to move your hand to use a mouse pointer, no accidental touching/click on a touchpad, and took up less space were great.

For self-consistency, Fukuyama should compliment, not criticise, Xi Jinping "hobbling the tech sector by going after ... Alibaba and Tencent", since that weakens the #BATX oligopoly [2] and thus strengthens market competition; US anti-trust measures against the #GAFAM oligopoly are slower.

The real problem with #IoT is internet connectivity that:
- has global reach
- does not require any user authentication to connect (as in #wifi)
- is not user-controlled (cannot be switched off or checked to see if it is sending/receiving anything)
Currently, the #ecall system in cars fulfils all the above conditions and, unfortunately, is generally required by law in the EU. -

If the intention is to ban #advertising to kids, one method is simple.Is the website for children or are children most likely to access it? If so website is not permitted to have advertising.
Another option is to have the #ClassificationsBoard that classifies the #ageRating for film and tv programming to also do #commercials, if the commercial is deemed to be clearly #targettedAdvertising to children it is denied approval for use online..

@rysiek There's a flavour of argument over packaging systems and formats which runs:
- X package format is difficult for software developers to use.
- Y package format is easy for software developers to use.
- Therefore Y package format is better than X.
What's not realised is that the fundamental value and benefit to package management is to systems administrators / owners / users, and integrated distributions of packages. And that the major costs of operation and maintenance are not installation, but *operations and maintenance.
"Easy for sofware developers" typically translates to "encourages sloppy and difficult-to-maintain processes and practices". Not only this, but by lowering up-front costs at the expense of long-term costs, the practice further encourages poor practices (from an O&M perspective), and puts well-behaved software at a disadvantage.
See the Debian Project's explicit focus on user benefit, a long-term value benefit.
This is a Jevons Paradox / Gresham's Law crowding out of well-behaved software and a race-to-the-bottom of poor long-term O&M behaviour.

On lemmy.ml discussions about communism like the three you mention happen. I reject them like you! Also other related to mainstream mindset (capitalism, neocolonialism...) that I see very enriching. Nowadays I don't participate on that concrete instance, but I use the softwares #Lemmy and #Lemmur everyday.
