Har din webbstatistik haft knepiga besöksmönster det senaste året? Det har min! Under semestern fick jag tummen ur och byggde med stöd av Claude Code ett plugin till Matomo som filtrerar bort icke-mänsklig trafik innan den registreras.

Starting my #docker migration process onto new #synology gear. While still waiting for some parts, I have succesfully migrated #matomo and its #mysql DB from one host to another.

Will do it once again, onto new gear as well but more as a docker stack migration as a whole. This time it was an actual mysql db migration from one host and DB version to another.

Zero issues for all sites. Really like that platform!

On the one hand, I understand (because I use an #adBlocker too), but on the other, I'm a little offended that my #selfHosted #Matomo server is listed on a block-list as a "Tracking Server". I mean, I guess technically, but I'm just "tracking" views on my own websites. Makes me sound like some kind of creep, tracking everywhere you go online.

Why did we replace Google Analytics with Matomo? 🔒

Google is a US company with potential CLOUD Act access, and its consent banner led to incomplete stats. As a Swiss cloud provider, we felt we should use our own infrastructure for tracking instead.

The result: Matomo, cookieless with anonymized IPs, on Swiss infrastructure. Typically no consent banner needed, and stats are more complete than ever. 🇨🇭

#Matomo wird auch immer mühsamer.

Wer kennt eine Alternative, die nicht derart überladen daherkommt?

#SelfHosted, einfach, keine Server-Software in C oder Rust, sondern irgendwas simples im Webspace (gerne PHP), das plausible Zugriffszahlen liefert (aber Bots aussortiert).

Gibt es wirklich nichts in der Art? Jedenfalls finde ich nix. Muss #OpenSource sein. Das ist nicht verhandelbar. 😉
