Chameleon 6 is out 🎉
The highly flexible #MediaWiki skin now builds on #Bootstrap 5. All Bootstrap 5 classes and utilities work in your wikitext and templates, and thanks to CSS variables, many customizations that used to need an SCSS recompile are now plain CSS edits.
Also new: Font Awesome 6. And the companion BootstrapComponents extension got a version 6 with Bootstrap 5 support.

Quand je dit vague !
J''étais parti pour faire 1 pouet sur mon prochain départ sur la route, après 15 ans de sédentarité, mais mon #TDAH, comme de bien entendu, n'en a fait qu'à sa tête et m'a emmené loin, très loin de mon propos initial.
Je commençais par dire que le fait d'avoir pondu 1 pouet long, indigeste et sans doute un peu prétentieux sur mes voyages et mon envie de reprendre la route.
Je me demandais si c'était mon pouet qui m'avait décidé à reprendre ma besace ou si c'était cette envie qui depuis des mois me taraude qui avait généré mon pouet.
De la (si t'es pas TDAH tu peux pas suivre) un passage des "Aventures du Baron de Münchhausen" m'a illuminé.
C'est, je crois, la 1ère mention de la notion de #bootstrap
Son cheval enseveli dans les sables mouvants, le Baron n'allait pas tarder à subir le même sort.
Il a alors eu l'idée géniale de se tirer la chevelure de toute ses forces, tout en maintenant ses bottes biens agrippées aux étriers et au flanc du cheval.
À force de tirer, encore et encore, il parvint à se sortir, lui puis sa monture de ces sables et échapper ainsi à une mort certaine.
Quand j'essayais de comprendre le phénomène de bootstrap, c'est ce trilemme qui m'y aidait.
Et mes voyages dans tout ça ?

I'm putting together a proof of concept web app but #CSS is not one of my skills. If you are a *human* who is skilled at this I need a #bootstrap theme to match the colors/fonts etc of an existing f#oundation based site - plus a switchable dark mode (which the current site doesn't have). I'm looking for 100% human created. Is this a #fedihired situation or is there a better hashtag? TIA Please boost if your followers would benefit

I have been playing with the idea of rewriting an old web-app I made over the past 20 years. It's right now running on #LAMP and is targeted at #mobile devices, but I'd like to modernize it to use #PostgreSQL and a web #framework that's not old enough to be well into its first divorce.
I'm used to #Java + #Angular (and derivatives like #Ionic), but I'm thinking I want something new. What are people happy with (and have used for actual development beyond a Hello World tutorial)? I can Bing, so I'm more interested in real experiences. I'm not terribly interested in React or Vue, and have already given Swift/SwiftUI for iOS a spin, so I don't want that.
Should have a mobile-first #frontend, be decently mature so I don't have to rewrite in 2 years when support stops. I need a backend and Postgres access. Would like support for #PWA.
Can be Angular-based or stand-alone, can be separate backend and frontend or mixed/tag-soup/hydration-like. #Typescript or the like are fine, but not a requirement. Fuck #Erlang / #Elexir. If you're going to suggest #Go or #Rust better have a good argument because most people suggesting those are extremely annoying people. #Flutter / #Dart = yuck.
I'm using it to track goals/habits and make #charts, #statistics, and some basic machine learning (k-means, affinity propagation, GMM, and other #clustering, that sort of thing). I can program statistics and clustering myself, but a native chart library would be nice (heatmaps, line charts, bar charts/histograms, that sort of thing) and I wouldn't mind not having to implement my own probability distributions. User authentication (persistent between application restarts) is a must (by framework or popular libraries). I can do #Bootstrap, #tailwind, and other front-end #CSS, but I'd be perfectly happy not having to as long as I can make my widgets purple. -

I remember when it was 2013 and remade the page of TodoJuegos, a small videogame store using Bootstrap 2.
13 years later, and still does look modern and functional.
Never got an answer for the store, I believe.

I've been building a #deno web app with #OpenCode, GitHub Copilot and #Google #Gemini Pro 3, and it works really great. OpenCode is frugal with tokens, I worked for 10 days before hitting my $10 budget limit. And Gemini Pro is great with #typescript and produces slick #bootstrap layouts.
This will be my default agent stack for now.

Привет, Хабр! Меня зовут Никита Чубаров. По трудовому договору я инженер-эксперт по разработке и сопровождению сервисов, а по факту DevOps-инженер с фокусом на доставку в платформенных командах, которые поставляют общие решения для десятка дочерних команд. Со временем эта доставка перестала быть прозрачной и предсказуемой, и всё больше напоминала космолёт, в котором пилот перед каждым запуском вручную подключает провода, проверяет давление в контурах и по списку нажимает десятки кнопок. Пока запусков мало, это ещё можно представить, но когда их становится сотни, а кораблей — десятки, такая схема быстро превращается в источник ошибок и выгорания. Примерно в таком состоянии у нас находился Bootstrap Namespaces. В статье я расскажу, как мы прошли путь от сложной CI-оркестрации к декларативному управлению Bootstrap Namespaces через Argo CD и GitOps, какие проблемы это позволило убрать и какие новые ограничения пришлось принять.

WordCamp Salt Lake 2012
Gave a talk at WordCamp Salt Lake a few months ago, and thought I would link to the slides. I created them using the slide framework that was developed for Google I/O. My talk was titled Bootstrap, Responsive Theme Development. I talked a lot about generic HTML/CSS things, with a few WordPress specific tricks. Turned out pretty well, I hope to do it again someday.
