  2. @sb  the chippy-choppy There won't be many left. Depending on how staunchly and extremely anti-AI you and (aspiring) server admins are, there won't be any left. Because it's technically impossible to set up a Fediverse server with absolutely no AI code underneath whatsoever.

    The Linux mainline kernel itself contains AI code now. It's officially allowed as long as it's disclosed as such. Thus, you will have to avoid literally all servers running on Linux.

    Ich schätze 90% aller Datenbankanwendungen brauchen keine Spezialfunktionen. Warum setzen viele Entwickler trotzdem #Microsoft oder #Oracle ein, anstatt freie Alternativen wie #Postgresql oder #MariaDB?

    Das erzeugt doch weniger Abhängigkeit und spart den Kunden Lizenzgebühren.

Bei meinen Datenbank-Unterricht bin ich komplett von lokal installierten #DBMS auf #Container umgestiegen: zwar frisst die Komplexität, bis sie laufen, viel Zeit, aber am Ende hat man viel gelernt und ist viel flexibler.   26. @lenzgr I don't think it's good though since both BSL is not #FreeSoftware license according to #DFSG (Debian Free Software Guideline) or #OpenSource according to #OSI.

    I think someone don't like with this will fork the last MPL-licensed #MariaDB version to keep the MPL license though; individuals, organizations and companies prefer #FOSS will move there and #HashiCorp will realize their terrible decision.
